A fantastic book about a young lad kidnapped and brought up as part slave and part Indian. This book gives a first hand insight into real Indian culture long before the film version of events.I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in Native American culture.

interesting book but slightly disjointed.....i did enjoy reading it though. gave some insight into the native american culture which was fascinating in parts but too vague in others. would still recommend this book as it is informative and gripping at times.

I found this book not only inspirational but informative. What the young man had to cope with from such a young age is unbelievable. But it gives you a great insight into how the various tribes lived, thier way of life, and in particular, what they had to endure.
There is also a very emotional side from his white family who never got over the loss.

Great story, but lacking in description. It interesting to see how little the native knew of one another, back in the old days. It a great shame that he didn't keep his promise and return to his tribe.

Although true, writer does not really hold attention too well. Have read better. Perhaps those interested would be better reading lifestory of Cynthia Ann Parker - much more attention to detail in there.

Well written, a great story but beware you will be hooked, this book was a reasonable price and easy to obtain, the second part of the story The Boy Captive In Canada is rare and can cost up to £80
