Power at hand when you need it.

I bought this case because my S7 is two years old and I've decided to keep it and go "SIM only" for a while rather than spend a lot of money to "upgrade" to a newer phone which I can't see will do a lot more for me. The one thing that is likely to become an issue is battery life. My previous S5 had a user replaceable battery, the S7's battery is sealed in. Yes, it can be replaced but adding a battery case was my preferred option in the first instance.

I will also shortly be going on a bit of a wild camping road trip across Europe so I wanted to have something convenient to extend the battery life of my phone for when we’re “off-grid”. I also have a 26800mAh power bank to take with me.

Let's get the obvious over with first - yes, it does add to the size and weight of your S7, quite a bit. This is in no way an issue for me. I’m a big bloke with big hands and if anything the S7 is too thin to feel comfortable in my hand. Enclosed in this case my phone now has a reassuring weight and bulk. I know that goes against everything phone design has been doing through history but for myself I would rather have a larger more capable device than a tiny thin thing which I feel I’m going to snap in two and that also has a battery life of half a day.

This case looks and feels well made, it feels good in the hand. It is in effect in two pieces. The main battery holding chunk of the thing and a small rim which clicks around the phone and holds it in place. There’s a slight lip in one corner of the rim which allows you to get a finger / thumbnail under it and lift it away to open the case up for installation or removal of the phone.

I love the way they’ve channeled the speaker output to the front of the case, this makes the sound much clearer.

An extension cable is provided for the earphone jack socket as otherwise the socket would be too far recessed to plug in your buds. I’ve not used this as I have Bluetooth earbuds. They also provide a suitable micro USB charging cable. Buttons for volume and power are duplicated on the case and all work just fine.

My very slight niggle with the case is that the power connector is recessed quite deeply. The cable provided with the case makes a perfect connection as do *some* other micro USB cables I own. It’s almost like the metal “lug” on the micro USB connector needs to be a millimetre or two longer than normal in order to make a proper contact. Hard to explain it. The provided cable is fine and I found others I owned which fit it perfectly too.

The case seems to charge the S7 at quite a fast rate, maybe not as fast as a “quick charge” but fast enough. As I type the case is charging my phone, it has 10% to go and the phone estimates that will take 15 minutes.

Before this battery case I used a leather wallet style case for my phone so I also added a wet fit plastic screen protector to my S7 along with this case to save the screen from scratches.

I’ve only had this case for a few days but it has already changed my confidence in having sufficient power to get through a day of heavy phone use. Hopefully it means that I can now save quite a bit of money by going “SIM only” and the case will pay itself back and more within the first month in that regard.

I've not noticed any degradation in signal for voice, data or bluetooth - the phone works just as it always did but for longer now :)

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this case to anyone who wanted to boost the on-the-go battery life of their S7.

When the phone battery runs down I push a button and the phone is charged. zero impact on my day. Kiwibird - You have a customer for life. I only received this thing about an hour ago, but oh boy! It's a magnificent case.

The front facing speaker cut-outs make audio so much better.
Installation was a bit confusing, but after looking at their S6 case in videos I managed to figure out what to do.
Buttons seem a bit hard to use, though I'll get used to it since I use an Otterbox defender as my daily driver.
So far I haven't had any issues with it. I will update this review if I ever do.
Kinda disappointing that NFC doesn't work, but I can deal with that.

I would recommend this product heavily for anyone that's getting a regular Galaxy S7 and needs the extra battery life.

Not as chunky as expected for such a high capacity battery. Good fit and feels premium. Came with at least 75% charge in it which is ideal.

It's a shame that it needs an extender to use earphones, but they do include this (I guess everyone uses Bluetooth earphones these days, especially when you have the extra battery capacity!).

Absolutr must in my opinion. Say goodbye to worries about your battery becoming flat and having to charge it by mains regularly. I use my phone now for the whole day knowing I'm good for battery until time to sleep and recharge the phone. You can recharge the phone whilst still in the case and once the phone has finished charging it charges the case which is handy for when your sleeping. Otherwise you can charge the case individually which I cool too. Also when you can press the charge button at anytime to start the charge and turn the charge off whenever you like. It can charge from 0% to 100% in a very short time and still charges it to max whilst your using the phone on low battery. The great thing is it protects your phone and makes it less slippery but the downside for some might be is that it makes the phone bulkier and adds weight to it. For me I couldn't imagine using my phone without it. 100% recommend. Outstanding product.

This is the best case of this type I have seen. Perfect secure fit. All cut outs are perfect and buttons operate easily. Comes with a headphone extension too.
After initial charging, charge time is reduced. Adds weight obviously due to the battery in the case. While not exactly slimline it is comfortable in use. Recommend using lead supplied when charging as it is quicker. You can use a rapid charge lead to charge phone though with case still in place.

So far this has proved to be brilliant. It does turn your phone into a brick, but I knew that before I bought it. In fact I actually prefer the phone being thicker, it's really only mobile phone designers who are obsessed with making the phones slimmer, I prefer a larger phone to hold. It feels very well made and has a rubberised finish to the case. Battery life is impressive, I managed to charge my phone once whilst still using the phone to watch video, and 1.5 times when not using the phone all the time. If like me you are planning on keeping your old phone and moving to a Sim only package, this device will pay for itself in 1 month. I didn't see any point in upgrading my S7 as it still looks virtually brand new, it's just the battery life which is showing its age. This is a far cheaper option than getting a new battery fitted as they are a sealed unit on the S7. Overall, very pleased with it.
