Fast forward to today and I bought the same Puersuit Android box for my parents. Unfortunately, the keyboard was not included like it should have been so Amazon sent me a gift certificate to purchase one. Since this is for my parents and since AAA batteries are always a pain to get a hold of in Supermarkets, I opted for this rechargeable version instead.
Included in the box is the keyboard, the lithium ion battery, and a USB charging cable. When you remove the battery cover you will see a USB transmitter which you should put into the back of your Android box. I was really pleased to see that the charging cable comes with an extension cable as the Android box they have only has two USB ports and one is taken up with the transmitter for this keyboard. The extension ensures that we can use another USB cable and charge the keyboard.
At the top is the USB connection port and the on/off switch. It connected automatically to the Android box. Check out the settings area for keyboard settings if it doesn't automatically connect.
The keyboard works well. The buttons are clicky and responsive. Is this an amazing keyboard? No. This is no replacement for a proper portable keyboard with regular keys, but it is a vast improvement over using a virtual keyboard on your television.
When I am just browsing around menus I find the Android box's remote control is better, but I prefer using the keyboard when searching for files and for browsing the web.

Very light and small unit, easy to hold and operate. When playing media files from the kodi app, you can skip to chapters by pressing the Up and Down arrows on the RHS circle. Pressing Ok starts the file and pressing again gets you the control screen, where you can FF and Rewind, setup subtitles, video and audio settings.
Typing for web searches, etc is way better than the supplied remote control for the TV box, which is really clunky. This keyboard can't turn your TV box on and off though.
Backlight is white and clear though the blue areas don't display, only white lettering. Quick to charge over mini USB in 1-2 hours, battery lasts for a week on all the time.
Lovely and cheap bit of kit that makes using the T95 max a joy.
1) Mini usb cable is very old school and you probaly dont have many of these lying around so keep the incuded one safe
2) Backlight is not even distribution over the keys but acceptable to use a night
3) Battery supplied is a cheep 600mh one not 1200 or 800 as supplied in other versions
Info below is for android users
4) Home button is dead and you ahve to use the "e" button under it instead (for som inexplainable reason)
info below IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR NVIDIA SHIELD TV OWENERS
5) There is NO WORKING dedicated back button the button under the "e" shout work as a back button but does not
6) "Escape" on the far left works in some apps but not the desktop ui
7) I managed to fix this using an app called "Button Mapper" i configured a spare button to act as back
8) |Also used that program to create a longpress on a button to pop up a "Power Dialog" for sleep power off etc
In conclusion
Cheep, nice keys, not android friendly and definatly not nvidia shield tv friendly
Byeeeee :¬)
It is obviously inconvenient to use conventional peripherals in this situation and this combined unit (which I believe was originally intended to control entertainment systems) is a very neat solution that is also small and rugged enough to live in the glove box.
I tested it on delivery (which was comfortably early) and found that despite being even smaller than expected it was remarkably easy to operate.
What appears to be an intelligent driver loaded by the wireless receiver allows the small touchpad to run at variable speeds, which makes the touchpad a much more acceptable substitute for a mouse than might otherwise be expected.
The keyboard has very worthwhile haptic feedback, the illumination is adequate and switchable, and the key layout is familiar to UK users, all of which are positive points.
On handing over the prototype hardware (consisting of a prepared Raspberry Pi 3 B and this control unit) to the software designer remarks were made about how well a careful shopper can do for twelve quid nowadays.
Of course I'm glad I didn't have to type this with it, and I've no idea how it would work with an entertainment system (we don't even have a TV here), but for odd applications like the one we're playing with I'd recommend it to anyone.
