I needed to switch a keyboard and trackball mouse between two PC's and this seemed ideal for the job. It arrived well packed and looked very professional for the task at hand. So i set it up with 1 usb keyboard and my logitech trackbal mouse. I didn't get the full USB KVM as I couldn't find one which A) suited my needs and B) was within my price range so this seemed ideal.
Set it up and running, great works well.
But, here I am two months down the line and it works, er well sort of. It seems to work, but on boot up with win7 and win8, the keyboard and mouse are not picked up. I have tested this a few times and after the annoyance, it is annoyingly more simple to have one USB keyboard and mouse to plug in between machines. Its not for me.

This thing is epic. I work from home two days a week and I have my work laptop, a normal PC, and two screens. Now I only need one keyboard and mouse on my desk. The hub itself is a lot bigger than I had imagined and the build quality is very good! For those worried about switching between two devices taking a long time, my advice is to NOT install the ShareCentral utility as although it makes sure that devices are swapped "safely" it does add an additional five seconds to the process. I can swap between my PC and laptop within 2 seconds now. I'm a very happy customer Thank You!

For those who use more than one PC, such as a desk PC and laptop, just a quick double-tap on the Num-Lock key each time transfers all USB devices plugged in to the ShareCentral 5 from one PC to the other and back again. It doesn't have to be the devices that they suggest, any USB will do, for instance, I have two desk PCs (Linux and Windows) and use a separate KVM for keyboard and mouse, so use the ShareCentral 5 for all peripherals including USB printers, two scanners (one A3, one A4 multi-sheet), and storage drives. I liked ShareCentral 5 so much I bought a second one! A ten-star device!

It's no longer available here so I hope no-one minds if I say I got it for £9.99 on eBay. I'm using it with Windows 10.

I use it mainly for switching mouse and keyboard between my desktop and laptop computers, but it's also useful to be able to share up to 3 other USB devices like an external hard drive.

It feels well built and packaged like a high quality product, and helpfully comes with 2 USB cables. It sits nicely on the desk with rubber feet and has a good weight.

It works pretty well and essentially does the job. One of the switches controls two USB inputs, which is very handy for doing keyboard/mouse at the same time. It also comes with some software which is supposed to prevent switching while you're in the middle of writing to disk - which works with Windows 10, as far as I can tell, insofar as I haven't seen any error messages.

I'd like it if the switching process were snappier. After pressing the button, the unit thinks about it for a few seconds, flashes its lights, before finally switching... usually. Sometimes requiring another press. Slightly annoying when trying to use the same keyboard/mouse with a laptop and desktop alongside each other (but hey it's quicker than manually unplugging cables). If all you want is a simple keyboard/mouse switch, one of those cheap hardware switches that you can buy might provide faster switching.

Another thing I'd like would be an "Off" position for each USB device (maybe activated with a long-press of the button?), rather than just computer A or B. Sometimes I just want to disconnect a USB device, especially something like an external hard drive that I'm not using. Many USB hubs have such switches.
