About the Author

Kensington Gore is the infamous Hammered Horror film director, that according to myth and legend fake theatre and movie blood was named after. One of Horror's most shocking founding fathers Kensington has always courted controversy with some of his banned classics "The Mummy's Ring" "Kiss of the Spider Monkey!" and The Human Caterpillar!" That are soon to be turned into books, with unique book first "Director's Commentaries!" After a twenty year break, and reports of his death being somewhat exaggerated, he's back writing and directing. His popular Twisted Tales short story collections which currently number seven are going into novellas and helping up and coming young authors. As is his short story collection Kensington Gore's Twisted Tails, a collection with all royalties going to animal charity the RSPCA. His Hammered Horror series of books, are all about horror and gore. These scary novellas and novels will be out soon to scare you and educate you into the horrific side of horror and the movie business.

'Kensington Gore's Twisted Tails' is a collection of twisted short stories, each featuring an animal in some very different ways. I would say most of these stories could be classed in the horror genre but there's some sci-fi and humour thrown into the mix also.

Normally I find collections from a variety of authors like this to be a bit of a mixed bag but I'm glad to say that wasn't the case with this well compiled collection. Each story was satisfying in it's own way and all of them were of a well written standard. I enjoyed My Wife Bob, The Scared Crow, The Lucky Rabbit's Foot and Kensington Gore's own short stories the most. My Wife Bob was twisted in a clever and amusing way. The Scared Crow was atmospheric and spooky with a very unexpected twist. The Lucky Rabbit's Foot read a bit like a fable and it both horrified and amused me. Kensington Gore's stories were immensely entertaining.

All in all, I really enjoyed reading these fantastic stories and was entertained from start to finish. I would recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys a good short story. The collection has been put together very well and not only that, the profits also go to charity. What more can you really ask for?

Enjoyable little book of short stories from new and up-and-coming authors, all involving animals and all with a distinct twist at the end !
Much of the writing is naive, but most of the ideas are very good, and this was an easy read to help a train journey pass.
Worth a look, especially as some of the cost goes to charity !

A good collection of mixed stories with some nice twists in most of them. A good advert for the bunch of indie authors some of whom I will check out after reading this. As the author royalties from the book are being donated to charity it's all for a good cause too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved It !!!!! 15 Feb. 2014

Kensington Gore's Twisted Tails is a collection of short stories written with an animal theme, by a group of talented authors. Some of them have a horror undertone and some are just kooky. I enjoyed this quick read immensely. Even though the stories were from different authors they seemed to flow together nicely and I found myself reading it all in one night. If you buy this book not only do you get to enjoy the read, but you also get to pat yourself on the back. All profits from this book go to the RSPA.
