The DVD is about perhaps one of this country's leading engineering greats, but like most, left somewhat in the shadows as it were by 'the powers that be' from his early days of 'messing about in the shed' to building motorbikes, cars, boats etc.. He served in the RAF during the war - the REAL one in the 1940s as opposed to the recent oil fired jobs we pick and choose from today - and this DVD gives an insight into this very remarkable man who seems to be more known to the public as the 'man who flew Little Nellie in the James Bond film' and to say 'they don't make 'em like him anymore' would not be far short of the truth. As I said, I actually got my copy from Ken and its worth the price Amazon are asking and if you get the cahnce to meet the man himself, you won't be disappointed as for a man in his 90's, he has not stopped but perhaps slowed slightly and if a film was ever made about his life, you would need a bucket full of actors to carry it off. A Great Brit and if we had a few more like him instead of the dross we now have in ill fitting suits wandering about in self induced trance's, the place would be a lot better. I rest me case - just buy this and see how one man who would not take 'No' for answer kept/keeps on going!
Have now had the opportunity to watch this dvd after it was well received by the person I bought it for. The production values are excellent and content is a mixture of Ken's lecture I had seen and some other anecdotes and amazing stories which I hadn't. There must surely be more than enough of these for a "sequel" dvd to this one..? More please!
Couldn't recommend this highly enough.
