It would translate brilliantly to the small screen as a short series with actors such as Anna Friel / Keeley Hawes / Suranne Jones / Jodie Whittaker et al.
It shows the social pressures mother's face from each other, and the assumptions people make about each other based on their own values.

The author does a credible job of presenting many facets of the controversy. Unfortunately, I felt that the author ducked final resolution of the legal issues, by resorting to a plot twist that was possible, but unlikely. Nonetheless, this is a novel that I highly recommend -- it will make you think about your own decisions and how vulnerable we all are to the actions of others.
I would have preferred a stronger and clearer statement that the story of the mom who believed her child changed after MMR was against the scientific evidence and her decision to blame MMR mistaken.
Generally, the story makes it clear that anti-vaccine claims are incorrect, and ill founded, while correctly and accurately showing the types of claims made.
It's a good book and a very thought provoking one.
I was hoping for a story with insight into the anti-vax and conspiracy camps, all while maintaining solid reason and understanding of vaccinations.
Instead, I had a book that delivered a moral along the lines of "People get sick, bad things happen! You can't prevent it!" Methinks that he term herd immunity was not fully understood here, despite it's numerous uses in the book.
