I bought it in orange as the black is a bit 'boring'. it ticks all the right boxes, proper waterproof, very well designed and saved £50 over a similarly specced Mountain equipment or Jack Wolfskin product. It has a rubber grid pattern on the shoulders and hips to reduce wear from the rucksacks / hands, loads of pockets and waterproof zips and the eVent fabric is the first that I can say is at least as good as if not better than GoreTex (although to keep the high porosity it does need washing more often).

I am 5' 8" and 73-kgs and the medium is great with enough space for a base layer and warm layer underneath.

Well made and really tough, seems to be incredibly waterproof, easily matches gore-tex at initial glance. Time will tell how durable the material is and how long it stays waterproof. My only criticism would be that it appears the sizing has been modelled on one of the aliens from the popular 90's sic fi movie "Mars Attacks" as you could wear a bucket on your head and the hood would still be too big. Unusual areas of the jacket seem to bulge out as if to allow room for monstrous tumours. I'm average size (5'10", 12 st) and ordered a small but the jacket I received seemed to some avant-garde mesh of medium/large/ gargantuan and bulbous. Odd. Having said that it's cheap and you never know when you might need to wear a helmet or bucket on your head for comic effect.

Good fit in the body.
Good pockets, fit lots in.
Big peak, keeps rain from dripping down into your face.
Sleeve length just about right in the medium size. probably better if an inch longer.

Event keeps you dry, but not warm. I am wearing mine with a goose down layer at the moment.

Excellent value for money compared to other leading brands of shell jacket. It was less than half the price I paid for my mountain guide jacket.

The sizing is not for the West and it has no fleece or lining, so get the biggest size. The hood is awful - the elastic is so badly placed that it will either flop over your face or sit back on the rear of your head. However, Orange is good for darkness, it keeps the rain out and it has zipped slits under the arms for ventilation, which is good.

I ordered this item and was hoping it would arrive before our holiday. I received it in two days from order. Great jacket, does not stick to you when hot, great quality and highly recommended. Ordered medium size and fits perfect. ThankQ
