About the Author

Holly suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and began writing as a cathartic exercise. After reaching the milestone age of thirty, attending a school reunion, and seeing a friend fulfil a life-long dream of opening a book-shop, Holly decided that in spite of her physical limitations, she still had something valuable to offer.

Northern Monkey, I worry about more than your poor spelling. This book is fresh, original and very well plotted. Have you read it? I read a lot of material within this genre and am also a writer myself and I enjoyed every page. Hurry up and write the next novel, Holly!

Like reviewer SarahW, I read the first chapter of Karma in the Bookforce "Undiscovered Authors" competition. Holly H Harvey then went on to win for the North East of England and the result was this highly entertaining book.

After making her way through school as an object of ridicule and practical jokes, Paige has still not managed to pull her life together at the age of 28.

Her working life is unsatisfactory and illness has left her straddled with debts that she just can't clear.

In the office things are not going to plan. After 4 years she is still not happy there and office politics are a constant dark cloud.

When Paige applies for promotion things really come to a head ; Karma needs a bit of a helping hand!

In the midst of this arrives an invitation to her school's 10 year reunion. She bravely decides to face her fears and attends with her close friend Sarah. There are, after all, some scores to settle!

I loved the way the book unraveled. Thanks to karma, and with a little assistance, the bad get their just desserts - but not necessarily in the way you'd expect.

Witty and erudite, this is a must-read for all fans of better quality, non formulaic Chick-Lit.

I too am feeling compelled to put matters straight after seeing the "review" written by northen rock. I'm guessing that this person hasn't even read the book (by the failure to actually comment on anything in it!) I read ALOT of chick lit & this was funny, fresh & inspirational. The plot twists were pure genius, without trying to be too clever that you couldn't believe it happening!

A slim, northern lass is just about as far removed from me as you can get, but I could relate to her entirely!

Just a suggestion now, but READ THIS BOOK & SEE FOR YOURSELF! You won't be disappointed!

As a proofreader I read a variety of text. I read Karma by choice and not as a task. I read it within 48 hours, I just couldn`t put it down. The storyline was well thought out, funny, and I feel the book was well worth the money. I appreciate everyone has an individual opinion but I have recommended this to many friends and relatives, they in turn have read it and really enjoyed the story. In my opinion it was well worth the money and well worth the time spent reading. Well done Holly, how about a sequel?

This book deservedly won a competition run for undiscovered authors. I read a sample chapter a few months ago and was hooked. I was eager to find out what exactly the main character, Paige, does to give fate a helping hand. It was definitely worth it.

I'd say the book is a great read for anyone who has wondered if what goes around really does come around, anyone who has ever worn an `outfit of shame' (you'll have to read the book to see what that term means!), and anyone with a sense of humour. One of the things I liked about this book is the fact that the events in it could happen to anyone. It's the combination of events, adventures, and her reactions to them that makes Paige such a likeable character.

It is the perfect read for girls & women of today whose energies are spread towards many different aims.
I am glad this author has been discovered, and I am sure many readers will connect to Paige through Holly A. Harvey's fantastic humorous writing style. A brilliant read.

I started reading this in my coffee break and almost snorted coffee out of my nose within the first couple of pages - this could have been written about me! All the mention of singing along to Adam and the Ants and seeing Biker Mice from Mars on the telly (it was a terrible cartoon!) could have been lifted straight out of my life. This is very funny stuff - light-hearted, but written with great warmth.

I'm not usually one to get gripped by "chick-lit", but will freely admit I lay on my bed all evening so I could finish it in peace! It makes such a nice change to have a heroine who doesn't have a high-powered job and pots of money, or start out with the perfect boyfriend - here the heroine is a normal, down-to-earth lass who is struggling to make ends meet and hasn't had a boyfriend in as long as she can remember (put it this way - she can count the number of her sexual conquests in the past twelve months on one finger!). She makes countless mistakes in her life - just like everyone else! It's refreshing to see a heroine who one could not possibly feel jealous about when looking at her life.

Comedic and tragic by turn - moving moments and pants-wettingly funny highs with a Geordie accent. I'd say this is my book of the month - excellent stuff!
