After two hit movies that were popular and having explored both the main characters, Daniel LaRusso and Mr Miyagi in both, what could be done for a third insallment of the series. The safest option was to return back to their home town in America, bring back the karate tornament in the form of a title defense, and bring back an old enemy, namely John Kreese.
Having returned home from Okinawa Daniel and Mr Miyagi make their dreams a reality by opening a bonsai tree shop. Meanwhile old rival John Kreese calls upon his friend and owner of the Cobra Kai dojo's Terry Silver, to get revenge on Daniel and Miyagi for losing him all his students. Silver decides to do this by getting Daniel to defend his All Valley title so that he can be beaten by their new recrute Mike Barnes. However Mr Miyagi refuses to train him in his defense due to a matter of principle and so Daniel is forced to ask Silver for help, which only leads to trouble. Its a good job Miyagi is on hand to kick some arrogant karate ass.
Again thankfully both Ralph Macchio and Noriyuki 'Pat' Morita return for the last time together as Daniel LaRusso and Mr Miyagi respectively and that on screen chemistry that we all loved in the first and second movie is still there. Yet again Daniel finds himself another girl, this time in the form of Robyn Lively who plays the lovely Jessica Andrews. Martin Kove returns as the nasty Sensei John Kreese who searches out his friend Terry Silver played well by Thomas Ian Griffith to get revenge on Daniel and Miyagi. John G. Avildsen is back to direct the picture and Bill Conti is also on hand for some more of that pipe music that gives a real oriental feel which is great.

The Karate Kid Part III is a direct continuation from the extremely well executed second movie; The Karate Kid Part II. While not as good as the initial original classic in my opinion, it is still a very climactic action movie worth watching.

You could buy this as a stand-alone DVD as I don't think Amazon sells this as a Blu-ray!

I'd highly recommend you buy the trilogy located here The Karate Kid Trilogy DVD as they logically and chronologically follow from one another and you can gain the full experience of the highly skilled actors (most notably Ralph Macchio & Noriyuki 'Pat' Morita), as well as John G. Avildsen's expert directing and Jerry Weintraub's production finesse!

This was so much better than i thought it would be. Great story and two great new villans, i loved Thomas Ian Griffith as Silver, he was fantastic. Mike Barnes was also great- in a cocky way. My favourite is still the first and the original cobra kai's are still my favourite villans but this is an amazing film also and definitely worth a look.

You can't help feeling that things went a bit too far with the third part of this superb series. And although I can't help wishing they'd left it after part 2, the magic is still there, and the wise and important lessons, smuthered under a mountain of cheese, are still as powerful as the first two. Long live Daniel san!

The magic continues! Daniel and Miyagi return for this third and final part of a magical trilogy. All the emotions of the previous movies are here, along with a few surprises.
Daniel has grown stronger, and Miyagi is now more of a father figure. After a brief review of the previous films, the story starts off with our hero returning back from Okinawa with his mentor Miyagi. Little do they know that Miyagi's nemesis John Kreese is already planning his revenge by hiring "Karate's Bad Boy" Mike Barnes to take away Daniels title.
The story has a rapid pace and a new stronger enemy in the form of Terry Silver, the owner of the "Cobra Kai" Dojo's. Relations between Daniel and Miyagi is strained and brought closer together.
The film returns to original locations, including the All Valley Tournement, and the soundtrack includesthe pan-pipe traning scenes.
This movie has to be the only way the trilogy could have concluded! Watch, enjoy and be carried away by the second best trilogy only to Star-Wars!
