This is a black vinyl standard weight , the advert mentions white vinyl from record store day which would have worked with white cover art. I am very happy with the pressing. The recording is from 2011 and was one of the records of the year for those with a taste for the idiosyncratic lyrics and vocals of Dan Bejar. The musical arrangements with saxophone and trumpet played through analogue guitar effects pedals really has to be seen live, as this is at the fore. There are great keys,guitar and drum textures. The aesthetic of the cover makes owning it as an LP worthwhile but I already had a CD. Definite 5 stars for music though.

Some albums are really difficult to classify, this one is impossible. Yes there are nods to the 80's but really you will struggle to find any other album sounding like this. Brimming with great tunes it glides by leaving you grinning, elated. The song writing is top notch and you wonder how this artist remains so unknown? Dreamy laid back pop may describe it, but any music lover will enjoy this fine album.

Can I give this 6 stars please ? One of the greatest albums of last 20 years. Magnificent melodies, beautiful arrangements and intriguing vocals. Steely Dan meets Prefab Sprout meets 80s AOR meets electronica meets indie oddness. Just love this record.
