Taking place in Manhattan, New York, 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' is the story of three friends who travel on a journey that teaches them the true meaning of friendship.
Kal Ho Na Ho is a very emotional movie. The movie is directed by Nikhil Advani. It was released on 28 November 2003 and the movie did the great business on the box office as well.Shahrukh Khan,Preity Zinta,Saif Ali Khan played the main roles of the movie. The movie is all about the friends and their friendship and it displays how to face the different aspects of life.It shows how life changes its color under the circumstances of happiness and sorrow. I have seen the movie twice and i love the movie as it is full of drama and emotions. The songs of the movie are really very nice, especiall its title song, Kal Ho Naa Ho.This movie is real entertainment and one can enjoy it with the family as well. --www.platform47.com
KAL HO NAA HO is the story of Aman, Rohit and Naina's journey together. How they discover themselves, find the courage to love and come together to celebrate life is what the film is all about.
The first half of the enterprise abounds in light moments. Moments that bring about a smile recurrently, but the writer and director have cleverly injected drama in the goings-on in a subtle fashion.t is the second half that has its share of serious moments. The love triangle and the complexities of relationships, treated differently, keep the viewer glued to the screen. The culmination to the story which begins as the engagement song comes to an end takes the film to dizzier heights altogether. The climax is highly emotional and completely justified, in keeping with the story of the film. The end is pleasant, very family-oriented and will be identified by Indians everywhere, whether in India or on foreign soil. --www.platform47.com
With Kal Ho Naa Ho director Nikhil Advani makes an assured debut. The plot deals with the journey of three friends and how their lives get intertwined and change forever. One can't imagine the film without SRK. The actor delivers yet another towering performance that he can be proud of, when he looks back in life. The role gives him immense scope to exhibit a gamut of emotions and the actor carries not just his role, but the entire film on his firm shoulders. Preity Zinta has never looked so pretty, nor has she ever acted with such conviction. This film should consolidate her status as an actress of substance. Saif Ali Khan is a revelation. The actor manages to stand on his own despite towering performances by SRK and Preity.
On the whole, KAL HO NAA HO has all it takes to emerge victorious. --www.platform47.com --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.See all Product Description

However, all my pessimism was laid to rest, when I walked out of what I would classify as one of the best commercial pot-boilers of the year. Tears, laughter, gags, music, melodrama it’s all here for the audiences to lap up and keep coming back for more.
Naina Catherine Kapur (Zinta) lives in New York with her mother (Jaya Bachchan), grandmother (Sushma Seth) and two younger siblings one of whom is adopted. All that she and her financially and domestically unhappy family need in their neighbourhood, is an anti-depressant Aman (Shah Rukh) — to charm them off their troubles. That he does, sweeping ice maiden Naina off her feet too. But things are never that simple when you’re in Bollywood. Unknown to her, ‘Mr do- gooder’ is terminally ill and is actually in New York for medical treatment. Making matters worse we also have Rohit (Saif) besotted with Naina - with Aman, trying to play matchmaker between them. The plot moves from here on to a predictable yet teary (and very soppy) climax that will no doubt have you sobbing for more.
Essentially, there is nothing here we haven’t seen before.Read more ›
In fact, I took two of my American friends to watch this movie in the cinema and they had tears in their eyes at the end. This film is an example of the strides bollywood has made in film-making. This is an excellent DVD and the special features, including the making of the movie are really good. Well, its a must buy in my book and certainly one of the memorable movies of our generation. Enjoy, if you can keep the tears out!!!!!!!!!
True the movie is long and in the beginning, reading subtitles that don't seem to keep up with the dialogue make one wonder if watching is worth the investment of time. However, by the end it would take a rather cynical viewer not to be moved.
I can remember vividly the opening credits.... and looking at shah Rukh Khan and thinking I couldn't really buy into this....3 hours later... totally totally converted..kicked off my whole Bollywood obsession..and perhaps worth mentioning... helped me get back on my feet after my partner died... Bollywood doesn't flinch from reality...the really harsh side... huge part of me finding my way back to happines..
Saif Ali Khan is a convincing Manhatten Bachelor. Preity Zinta is wonderful in her role. However, Sharukh's performance is wooden and he does not seem to bring that same depth to his character as he has done in past roles.
