Emotionally devastating, I have no words!
I couldn’t get through this story fast enough, every page had me holding my breath, frightened of what was coming next knowing full well that I was heading for heartache.
The story lilted back and forth, I went from the depth of despair to consummate happiness, it was a journey that was very difficult to call because the whole way through the author played her cards very close to her chest,
I couldn’t see where Nora and Reagan were going to find their middle ground, after all she was his complete opposite. While he craved, no demanded absolute control, she had little if any need for it. She lived her life as a completely free spirit or at least she had until Reagan.
But it was Reagan that had the most to give in my opinion and that was because I think he had the most to gain. While she fought his desire to control her and in many respects she won, she also dealt him a double whammy because when he was with her he couldn’t barely control himself and I think that took him by surprise.
What took me completely by surprise was the fact that the two of them were so perfect together I didn’t see how it could work but I knew that once they found their way it was only ever heading one direction.
I think these are probably some of the most authentic characters I have read from this author, she totally brought them to life, she gave their characters the opportunity to shine and she did it all with what I can only describe as a devilish nod to my woe. I was counting the pages, desperately hoping that things would go the way I had envisaged but no Ms Mabie toyed with my emotions and brought me an ending that I not only didn’t want to but would never have been able to foresee.
Reggie…oh …Reggie!! Reggie was bullheaded and wanted to be in charge of everything and everyone. Until he met his match Nora, Nora was a stubborn woman who was afraid of any kind of commitment except work. Nora was a well known event planner and met Reggie at an event. After a cab ride back to her hotel she decided he was a controlling arse. Until she moved into his apartment complex and they got to know one another and sparks was flying. Will their stubbornness get in the way of true love?
This is the first book in The Wake Family Series. I cannot wait to see what Mo has in store for Nora and Reggie! I have already recommended this book. If you are reading this, you have to read Knot!! You will not be disappointed!
is absolutely fantastic and very well written. I just couldn't put the book down till id finished the last page then I wanted more
and more. the characters are fantastic, you end up falling in love with them and they become unforgettable. this book will definitely
take you on an emotion roller coaster of a ride. I cant wait to read more from this author in the future and ill definitely be on the
look out for more.
Knot has to be the best tale of cat and mouse I have ever read. It took me a second or two to get into the story, as I wasn't quite sure what was going on as you begin in the present but then introduced to the past after meeting the characters! I very quickly caught onto the story line and was soon enthralled!! The story follows Reagan (Reggie) and Nora. For me it was a truly unconventional love story - an absolute pleasure to read.
You are introduced to Reagan first and I admittedly was reading the first chapter (having not known Reagan) thinking huh this guy’s kind of angry but I'm not sure why? All becomes clear as you delve in deeper and are transported to the past where the whole history between Nora and Reagan is laid before you. I really really LOVED this aspect of Knot - you really felt like you KNEW the characters and understood them.
Both characters have their issues throughout the book - you are so intrigued by both you just cannot put this book down. I was constantly wondering about what was going to happen next and how this story was going to work out? I was really hoping for the outcome I wanted, I was getting all the FEELS throughout!! Although you are jumping from present to past, everything is so clear you will have no problem following the story and getting sucked in! The writing was truly on point!!
For me this is a MUST read - you’re going to be off the radar for a little while when you indulge in this book! M. Mabie will take you on a roller coaster of a journey with these characters - on a truly thrilling chase of love. For me, it was intense and gripping but an absolutely wonderful read! (I’m about to jump into Bait now).
