A pleasurable watch, somewhat spoiled by its brevity.

Overall:
I enjoyed watching this. It keeps your attention and looks beautiful, but suffers from being quite short - not allowing its story to unfold naturally.
A good watch if you enjoy the genre, but don't expect the same quality of storytelling as Attack on Titan, FMA, or the other big hitters.

Pros:
+ The artwork is lovely, and the colour palette is plenty vibrant.
+ The fighting scenes are fast paced and well animated making them a pleasure to watch.
+ The music is original and even though it doesn't always feel like it fits, or it sometimes distracts from the show, I liked it.

Cons:
- With 12 20-minute episodes there's not a lot of time to fit in much development.
- The main character's story and view on the world is basically summed up the first time they explain it. And the second. And the third. His motives are clear, and they are unchanging.
- The secondary characters, while having the potential to be interesting, just don't seem to have the time to develop. It makes it difficult to grow any emotional attachment.
- (**SPOILERS**) The main villain of the show is introduced halfway through the already short season, and his motives are unclear to say the best. His father attacked him out of fear, and as a result he wants to kill all cowards? By releasing the monsters he has been hunting? Perhaps if there were more time we could have grown to love/hate this villain before his demise, but that's no longer possible.

Very good but no originality when you have watched a lot of animes.
Verified purchase
(may have tiny spoilers) I had a nice time enjoying that manga. I would say that the only real problem is the lack of originality. It is good because it took ingredients from other very famous mangas. So it's easy to be good when you basically copy

- most of it comes from Attack on Titan: atmosphere, combat style and deformed humans as baddies (visually).
- The concept of being mixed, also in AoT but also present in Bleach, an older anime (concept of Visoreds).

I do lack Mumei's character. Very well written and fits the thematic around her (weak/strong) perfectly and in a reflected way. The characters are in general well built, the drawings are beautiful and the music is great.
But there are several Deus ex Machina (new abilities coming from nowhere and as such new rules introduced without explanations, especially in the last fight) which are a little frustrating and a pity really).

I put 4 stars cause I still enjoyed it a lot, but that could really spoil a viewing experience.

Great Anime with an Unusual Plot
Verified purchase
I did really like this one. It has an unusual twist to the zombie genre and some really likable characters. The badies are very bad and the goodies are very good. Plenty of action and a few laughs along the way. The drawings are good and the music is good too. There is nothing bad I can say about this cartoon just not ideal for the kiddy winkies.

This was good.

Not a single bad episode. As someone who isn't a fan of attack on titan due to the silliness and characters, I initially dropped this when it aired but was in the mood for something darker and grittier and this fit the bill.

I found all the characters to be engaging throughout and man what a finale. Highly recommended.

You won't find this on Netflix

Yes this is an Amazon only Anime.

You will find an amazing story line, emotions, action, compassion, horror and obviously a very detailed but just the required amount of Gore.

It's a bit like any other Zombie movie you may have seen but this is clearly top class work with specific detail but partially flawed story line

The show does try to be like attack on titans side kick but apart from beautifully crafted action scenes and plenty of smoke affect. The show some how keeps its viewers hooked onto what happens next.

Great production values, everything else is ok

A post-apocalyptic zombie steampunk wild-west samurai action series because, well, if just one of those words in the description will draw us nerds in they clearly figured stringing them all together would make the Best Show Ever (it's Above Average). The Attack on Titan comparisons are completely justified, here you sacrifice some of the commentary on human nature from AoT but in return get a bit less angst and people don't scream their lines (quite) as much. I found it the more enjoyable of the two series, if lacking the same nightmarish impact.

Great anime so far!

Great anime so far, glad it seems to be gaining some popularity on Amazon Prime Video also as it shows that there is a demand for anime and they will hopefully consider getting more good anime to show.

Some amazing soundtracks so far also.

As good as anything I have seen to date

Can see why its compared to attack on titan. Both have ridiculous plots where you say 'really...why???' Both have fantastic graphics too. However having watched the first 5 episodes, this seems to avoid the long, slightly boring, talky bits of titan, so far. As such I am looking forward to finding out more details of the plot as it unfolds. Its really interesting listening to the voices while reading the text. I suspect I might learn some Japanese by accident!!

Overall after 5 episodes I really like this and want to watch more. Good series so far.
