The jet is 15 metres long and fits all of the `K’ series pressure washers K2 to K7. The jet just fits onto the bayonet fitting of the lance. It arrives in a fairly small box and when you remove the jet from the packaging it is very tightly coiled. This would make using it difficult and I noticed that other reviewers mentioned uncoiling the hose and leaving it stretched out to straighten. I tried that and it worked a treat, removing all of the kinks completely. Thank you to the reviewers who suggested that!
So my wife and I decided to jet the drains with this kit. We started with a small section at the end of a second manhole that was the drainage from the utility room. In use the jet does pull itself along the pipe, but it regularly needs assistance as it meets with debris or joints in the pipe, however it is very easy to use. The difficult thing is trying to keep the lance trigger pressed whilst manipulating the hose. It can be done, but would be much easier with one person on the hose and another on the gun. We had brilliant results on the utility drains as there was a partial blockage which was cleared with ease. Next we moved onto the gully on the other side of the house where the blockage had been. I jetted under the house and cleared loads of stuff. After a few runs the pipe was clear and clean. I then decided to clean the line from the kitchen that ran into this gully. What a shock I got, there was a fair bit of gunge at first and then a load of congealed fat came running down the line and turned the water white. The smell was appalling! I spent a couple of minutes clearing this line which eventually ran clear and then jetted the outlet of the gully towards the septic tank.
The jet pushes debris backwards towards the user, so it clears as it is moving down and does not push blockages further in, possibly compacting them. This means that when you pull out the jet, it pulls out the debris with it and we ended up with a lot of silt in the gully. The silt you see in the video is only a fraction of what we had to remove. A tip for removing this is to use a wet and dry vacuum which worked a treat for me.
After an hour of cleaning, which was in fact great fun and very satisfying, we had lovely clean and clear drains. What a brilliant bit of kit. It paid for itself the first time we used it and I even used it later on to clear a blocked down pipe which was full of leaves. Please watch the video so that you can see how effective this kit is. If you are thinking of buying this, do not hesitate you will not be disappointed!
I hope you find my review helpful.
The jets do not 'pull' or self guide the tubing though the pipe and same manual force is required to break up stubbing fat blockages.. I use mine with the Karcher K4 washer. In conclusion very good for straight tubing ie: guttering, loose blockages but not so good for any underground pipes with more the a 'gentle' bend in like the drains immediately outside my building.
No forwards firing jet if that is important to you.
You need a fair bit of room to operate it as it can be hard to unwind so might be hard to say use indoors or a tight spot.
Mine did kink in a couple of places, still worked but not as anti kink as I had hoped.
The thing I was surprised at was the fact that it kinks very easily without any misuse so I think I will still reach for the old rods for most jobs before this comes out again.
