The jet is 15 metres long and fits all of the `K’ series pressure washers K2 to K7. The jet just fits onto the bayonet fitting of the lance. It arrives in a fairly small box and when you remove the jet from the packaging it is very tightly coiled. This would make using it difficult and I noticed that other reviewers mentioned uncoiling the hose and leaving it stretched out to straighten. I tried that and it worked a treat, removing all of the kinks completely. Thank you to the reviewers who suggested that!
So my wife and I decided to jet the drains with this kit. We started with a small section at the end of a second manhole that was the drainage from the utility room. In use the jet does pull itself along the pipe, but it regularly needs assistance as it meets with debris or joints in the pipe, however it is very easy to use. The difficult thing is trying to keep the lance trigger pressed whilst manipulating the hose. It can be done, but would be much easier with one person on the hose and another on the gun. We had brilliant results on the utility drains as there was a partial blockage which was cleared with ease. Next we moved onto the gully on the other side of the house where the blockage had been. I jetted under the house and cleared loads of stuff. After a few runs the pipe was clear and clean. I then decided to clean the line from the kitchen that ran into this gully. What a shock I got, there was a fair bit of gunge at first and then a load of congealed fat came running down the line and turned the water white. The smell was appalling! I spent a couple of minutes clearing this line which eventually ran clear and then jetted the outlet of the gully towards the septic tank.
The jet pushes debris backwards towards the user, so it clears as it is moving down and does not push blockages further in, possibly compacting them. This means that when you pull out the jet, it pulls out the debris with it and we ended up with a lot of silt in the gully. The silt you see in the video is only a fraction of what we had to remove. A tip for removing this is to use a wet and dry vacuum which worked a treat for me.
After an hour of cleaning, which was in fact great fun and very satisfying, we had lovely clean and clear drains. What a brilliant bit of kit. It paid for itself the first time we used it and I even used it later on to clear a blocked down pipe which was full of leaves. Please watch the video so that you can see how effective this kit is. If you are thinking of buying this, do not hesitate you will not be disappointed!
I hope you find my review helpful.
I have concluded that it requires a forward facing jet which Karcher have told me isn't available for this item. I have now drilled a 1mm hole in the top of the brass housing and a bench run seems to show it working okay but I've yet to try it out on the blocked drain. It might be that with the forward facing jet it is no longer self-propelled but once I've tried it on the drain I'll update this review although that won't be for a while because my daughter lives several hundred miles away.
16th March 2017 - UPDATE
I was concerned that the hole drilled in the front might have a serious detrimental effect on the forward motion of the cleaner. As it turned out it had very little effect. The hose still moved forward under its own power (very slightly reduced).
The modification worked a treat and the blockage cleared very quickly. I've now got another one to do, when it's done I'll provide a further update. Had the cleaner come with a forward facing jet I'd probably have given this a 5-stars rating.
Had the telltale sign of the drain blocking by the sinks and bath emptying very slowly. Filled the drain inspection area with buckets of water to have a heavy head of water pushing on the blockage and Iinserted the drain hose. Two minutes later a huge gurgle noise and whoosh, obstruction gone. Must make this a six monthly task!
Already owned a Karcher 2.54 pressure washer so purchased the 7.5m pipe and drain cleaning kit.
The unblocking process was straightforward, never having used this method previously.
Once the pipe is in the waste drain line let the water reaction propel the head forward clearing the blockage as it goes along.
Once cleared give the drain a good flush.
Any DIY amateur can take on this task saving big fees charged by the experts.
Health and safety, wear goggles, gloves and be prepared to get splashed.
Only point already mentioned by others is the pipe length, 10m would be ideal the next size up is 15m.

I was expecting stronger jets for the forward propulsion. Also, no forward jet for opening the path like in professional devices.Read more
