HASH(0x8c874744) out of 5 stars Great read - 6 Dec. 2012

great look at how the justice being done at Guantanamo is a judgment not only on KSM & his accomplices, but on also the shadow legal proceedings performed by the US over the past 11 years. Well thoughtfully & deftly written, poignant, & funny at times.

HASH(0x8cbe9c54) out of 5 stars "This is not the end of the war on terror, but the beginning." 22 Dec. 2012

The author has attended the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed at Guantanamo Detention Center. He notes that "They seemed vested in a catharsis narrative where some sort of just resolution to 9/11 is still possible. The accused is the architect of the attacks and states that it is no different than any other act of war. Given the limits of national security, the nature of the trial, and the classified subject of the trial; the proceeding remain mired into process. The author returns frustrated. This single does a good job informing us of the situation. The camp and the process are described within the confines of security. This is a hidden corner of America about little is known, thus making this single informative and worth reading.

This is fantastic. I highly recommend this single, and also the rest of Mattathias' journalism and writing, which can be viewed at [...] - this website is my Slouching Towards Bethlehem.

Very good book that presents a great inside view of Gitmo. There is so much attention given to the detainees that the few people who actually deal with them on a daily basis is not included in the main stream media. Eye opener.Highly recommend if you are interested in a look at life there.
