I came accriss this book in Kindle's recommendations and saw all the good reviews. Justice for Collette is a powerful and insightful read showing the powerful and dignified fight by a mum for her daughter. I watched all the Crimewatch programmes and never forgot Collette's story but you only get to see a short 5 minute appeal and then life carries on for the rest of us.... For Jackie and her family life was over and life changed forever the day Colette was murdered. I cannot begin to imagine what is it like and it really brings home that life can change in an instant. I am 10 years younger than Collette and it made me think about all the times I walked alone and never for a second thought anything would happen to me, you don't at 16! You never know who is out there and it is so sad that Collette's life was over in an instant. I cried along with the book and don't know how any family ever live through that and not knowing for 26 years is a living nightmare. I'm glad Collette's family finally got justice for her, I was angry that finally afer a conviction he was able to take his own life.
Thank you for sharing Colette's story Jackie, I think you are amaizing and Colette must be very proud of you.

Justice for Colette is such a clear account of a loving Family destroyed by pure evil.I myself felt and witnessed the horror and pain, in Jacqui & the Family. Colette was such a lovely person, kind, warm, caring with a giggle that would light up a room. We had made plans to go to collage on day release together we were so excited about it we planned to take the bus together we hugged and we said good bye, I will NEVER understand why he could hurt her, Why her she was such a good girl. Jauqui is a truly amazing Mum she NEVER stopped fighting for Justice the times I watchd her hopes dashed by a lead that went no where. She knew he was close by like only a Mother would. The book was therapy for me, due to Jacqui persistence and courage and the wonderful Nottingham police, we can all sleep with out nightmares. From reading the book I have made a promise not to remember the hell of what happened to my Friend but to look back on her with all the fun times we had at lunchtimes at junior school, If I could have one wish it would be to erase Marks head of the horror and nightmares of the last time. He saw his sister.
My love to Jacqui Tony Mark & Family RIP Colette Auntie May Uncle Ken & Jan XXX

I read this in an afternoon and was very moved, especially on the very last page - that's when I almost cried, but I'm a bloke and so won't admit anything else.
Rarely do I read a book that I can not put down; this is one of those. You could read this on a longish flight or London to Scotland train journey, but make sure you have something to dab the tears.
It is a heart rending, true story of a mother's desperate dealings with the brutal and sadistic murder of her lovely, 16 year old daughter in a Nottinghamshire village in 1983. It was the first case to be covered on the BBC Crimewatch programme. I remembered the case and that's why I picked this book.
It took 26 years to get 'Justice for Colette' and you must read this to find out how this was achieved.
I can truly say it is one of the most compelling paperback, non fiction reads I have ever had. Brilliant.
Buy it now, you won't regret it, but it will make you think hard if you have a daughter or granddaughter.

This is a wonderful book which I read in one day flat. It got hard to read at times because of the relentless nature of the murder- it seems that one thing happens to the mum and then again, more bad news.

The story isn't sugar coated and is like hearing from a friend in that the ending isn't all rainbows and sunshine, the reality is, that life is hard for the mum, and there will always be a gap in this woman's life that can't be written off.

After reading it I felt quite harrowed by the experiences she had had, I can't imagine how tough it must have been to write it and live it.

Please read it, it will stick with you for some time.

This book is an incredible moving account of an unimaginable horror that no mother should have to deal with.
A fantastic well written memoir that grips you from start to finish, capturing the distress and devastation Collette's family suffered.I could not put this book down.

Extremely sad story, that hopefully no other family should ever go through; waiting 26 years for your child's killer to be found. My heart goes out to Jacqui, her husband and especially the son who actually saw how is sister was found. However, I was expecting more of a detailed account. She went into great detail at the start how she met her husband, then when they split, he was hardly mentioned again, same as her son and grandchildren. This doesn't detract from what she went through and to be fair the book was about her. An easy read, for a quiet afternoon in. Hope all of the family find happiness.
