Reviewed by Dawn Vickers on behalf of Kindle Friends Forever

This is the prequel to the Chasing Carolina Series.

Chase loves cars and women. He’s twenty-two, has a high profile family and wants for nothing. Chase and his friends take off to spend summer at Myrtle Beach thinking it will be wall to wall partying and women. What he doesn't bank on is meeting Ashlynn. She’d found out that her boyfriend cheated on her before going on holiday with her friends, and doesn't expect to meet Chase and fall for him. When they meet, sparks fly between them. Even though an attraction grows, she doesn't want to get hurt again. Chase is experiencing feelings he never knew he had, so they try not to fall in love; however, with only four weeks together, can they both survive when something that started out as a summer fling suddenly becomes so much more? Can Ashlynn let Chase in and will Chase be able to change his playboy ways and be with Ashlynn?

Ashlynn will be going to college and Chase is starting his career as a Nascar driver. They both know their time together will be limited and living so far apart— can they settle for a holiday romance and walk away at the end of it, or agree to wait for each other while they pursue their dreams?

This read is perfect if you are after a light, fun, easy read full of sexy hot moments and little drama. The beach setting makes you almost feel like you’re in this story, too! The secondary characters are also an enjoyable part of the book and don’t fade into the background. Each has a good solid character in their own right.

Danielle Jamie writes some smoking sex scenes and things were definitely hot between these two. This book is a prequel Chase and Ashlynn will be back in 2015 can’t wait!!

4½ Sizzling Summery stars

I was really excited going into this book, because:

1. For the first time, I had no preconceived ideas about this book. Previous books my Danielle have always come highly recommend and at times this leads to people revealing the emotions of a book i.e heartbreaking etc

2. The cover and title of this book just screamed, Sunshine and Holiday/Vacations and lets face it, nearly everyone loves sunshine and holdays.

I wasn't wrong on the holiday factor, because this short read tells the story of Ashlynn Myers, 19 and her 3 friends deciding to spend 4 weeks of the summer in a beach house in Myrtle Beach. She has not long split from her previous boyfriend, who she caught cheating and since then dating has not been her main priority.

Chase Kenzington and his 3 friends are spending time in the beach house next door and from the very beginning, the sexual chemistry between Ashlynn and Chase was hot enough to melt the polar ice caps. Chase, who is also an up and coming NASCAR driver, has always been a player, but there's something about Ashlynn that has him thinking commitment isn't so unappealing.

Chase and Ashlynn embark upon a relationship and while both are fully aware that this will be just for the summer, neither one expects to have such strong feelings for the other, making the thought of walking away and returning home at the end, heartbreaking.

There's definitely a feel good/summery vibe to this book. Its sweet, fun and scorching and would make a great read for anyone taking a holiday/vacation. Athough you could read this anytime and still enjoy it.

If i'm brutally honest, the story wasn't particularly drama filled or intense enough for me to give it the full five stars.

Young love ah! When 4 sobriety college girls, who are on a months long vacation to Myrtle beach, move in next door to 3 super hot, super rich boys, sparks were destined to fly. There was an instant attraction between playboy Chase Kenzington (a young race car driver) and Ashlynn, a good girl getting over a relationship. Their eyes connected and very soon they got to know each other and their attraction grew. Ashlynn was protecting her heart from falling for bad boy chase, Chase had feelings for Ashlynn that he had never felt before.
With only a month to spend together and their attraction turning into more what will become of these 2 young lovers?
Can Chase only be with one girl?
Will Ashlynn learn to trust Him?
Is their attraction and growing feelings towards each other going to break both their hearts? Or is this just a summer fling?
This novella has it all, beautiful people, an amazing beach setting, attraction, jealousy, guilt and 2 people falling in love in front of our very eyes.
The character development was incredible considering the books short length and their friends all brought something different to the story, Parker had some great one liners!
I found myself looking how long was left in the book towards the end as I didn't want it to be over. The epilogue tied up a few lose ends BUT this is only the beginning of the story for Chase and Ashlynn, oh yes this novella is actually a prequel (virtual high 5 to Danielle Jamie!)
The author is writing a new series to be released in 2015, The Chasing Carolina series. Woohoo! I can't wait to see what the future holds for this pair.
