The screenplay is by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, Trevorrow and Derek Connolly and the story is by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers.
22 years after the events of Jurassic Park (1993), Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to respark visitor's interest, which backfires horribly.

I love the different setting of this one, and I like the way it completes what was intended with the first 'Jurassic Park' - i.e. a theme park where these dinosaurs are displayed! The new actors also breathe some fresh air into the franchise, as do the new dinosaurs! I won't give any spoilers re:plot, but it's got the usual dose of peril and action as the other films. Just a really enjoyable, easy to watch movie, ideal to relax with a beer and some popcorn with - loved it!
You have the usual elements of; scientists congratulating themselves for their cleverness; administrators who think they have everything under control; kids who go where they shouldn't; military people playing their shadow games; dinosaurs who run rampant; and a hero who saves the day. Throw in the obvious love interest and everything you expect is there.
The special effect are top drawer, and the story cracks along at a good pace after a slower start, reminiscent of the original. The climax is obvious from a long way out, but the journey to get there is no less enjoyable for this. The roar of the T-Rex is still as magical as ever. Looking forwards to JW2
As with all films these days there is nothing special in the extras, but they are well put together and worth a watch if you enjoy learning what goes on behind the scenes
Admittedly, Jurassic World goes over the top, they had to create a hybrid dinosaur... I find that's common with modern films. The older Jurrasic Park films had a LOT more atmosphere and tension, you developed much more of a connection with the characters, and I think the dinosaurs looked better too. However, tension, atmosphere, and character connection are lost in modern day films, it's drama and action. Things tend to be big and in your face in modern films. Anyway, there was still a lot of magic, and it was entertaining, and I enjoyed it. I am interested to see where it would go with a sequel. Not as good as Jurrasic Park, but still very enjoyable. Still left me feeling like a kid at the end haha.
Like many I am sure, I have developed a fondness for Blue and this is a great prequel to the new film which I recently managed to watch.
Fantastic and still great to watch 3 years later.
Overall, a good saturday night film to watch at home and I would watch it again at some point.
