Junying Kirk came to Britain from China in 1988. She grew up in the turbulent times of the Cultural Revolution, and was one of the first to go to University after the death of Mao Zedong. A British Council scholarship led her to study English Language Teaching at Warwick University, followed by further postgraduate degrees at Glasgow and Leeds. She has worked as an academic, administrator, researcher, teacher and cultural consultant. Apart from being a free-lance professional interpreter and translator, she enjoys reading and writing her books. Her Journey to the West trilogy, 'The Same Moon', 'Trials of Life', and 'Land of Hope' have been published on Amazon Kindle. She lives in Birmingham, UK with her husband.
