Product Description

Product Description

Volume two in this series, and you just cannot stop the jungle beat making you move your feet! Truly bizarre stuff, yet maintaining all of the all-out dance thump of Las Vegas grind making jungle exotica. These comps came out when the world was easy listening crazy, and sure the Martin Denny and Les Baxter albums are fine and all, but this dirty platter really get the beat started.

A 2 volume set of trashy r'n'roll exotica made by obscure combos - all knocking out 2 minute b-movies heaped to the gills with grunts, ape-noises, bird calls cries & other jungle inspired sounds. How Martin Denny might have turned out had he pursued r'n'roll. Though titled Jungle the sets also include nods to the orient, Arabia & other exotic locales. Sleeve notes are zero which knocks the perfect 5 to a more than respectable 4. Buy!

From a German company called STRIP this and its sequel deliberately seeks out the obscure. In order to do this the recordings are dubbed from vinyl singles which is why there's no info or even writer credits.
What you have here is total musical failure and yet any one of these instrumentals could have gone all the way with the right amount of radio play.
Consider that Wipeout began on a custom label called DSP then sold to the Princess label and then licensed to Dot.Even Sandy Nelson began as a maker of demos at Original Sound. Some are luckier than others

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than Vol. One 29 Jun. 2005
By TimothyFarrell22 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Like your exotica with a little more kick? This compilation of "exotic" rock 'n' roll will satisfy your desire. As I said in my review of Volume One, this not very popular style of rock is very unique. None of the songs on either compilations hit the charts (but, duh, it's Crypt Records), keeping this style underground and regulated to sleazy dives and strip joints. In fact, in addition to an image of Hollywood Tarzan pictures, this conjures pictures of old school strip-club, where the stripper came back with a band not a DJ. It's a great deal of campy fun, and if you are as eccentric as me, you may be dancing to it. They certainly don't make these things like they used to. Honestly, try finding something that sounds like "Harem Orgy" or "Snake Charmer" in today's music. A great collection of zany rock 'n' roll. Hey if this obscure stuff is your cup of tea, pick up both volumes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent this one is really Cool CAT! 2 May 2006
By Cool Cat - Published on Amazon.com

Music to have your siginificant other strip to. I agree with Tim down below this volume is better then number one. Number one is still good but you can hear the dirtiness and grit in this volume. Puts you in a tropical paradise of dancing kittens, whips, palm trees, margaritas and evil men in corny gorilla suits chasing the kittens! Pick up this awesome music that will have you Jungle Rockin and Rollin! Check out the S & M song by the Whips called "Yes Master". AWESOME!
