Julia Green is the author of more than 18 books for young people. Her most recent novels for children are The Wilderness War and To the Edge of the World, published by Oxford University Press. To the Edge of the World was Editor's Pick in The Bookseller and a Times Children's Book of the Week, and was widely and favourably reviewed. Her novels for teenagers and young adults are published by Puffin and Bloomsbury and include Blue Moon, Baby Blue, Breathing Underwater, Drawing with Light and This Northern Sky. Julia Green is Professor of Writing for Young People and is the founder and Course Director for the MA in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University which has launched the careers of more than 40 children's and YA writers. She has a PhD in Creative Writing. Julia leads creative writing workshops for children and adults in a variety of settings, including festivals and schools and for the Arvon foundation. She currently lives in Bath but spends as much time as she can in wild, remote places. She has two adventurous grown-up sons. She writes about islands and oceans, the relationship between young people and the natural world, friendship, family, love, loss, adventure.
