I read these the first time around (must be about 35 years ago!) and wanted to read them again on on a handheld device. I had tried the odd scanned download but was left disapointed. I saw this kindle version and decided to give it a try. I have got a kindle paperwhite and the kindle app on an ipad (gen 1). The kindle method of letting you double tap to zoom in on a panel and then swipe to move to the next panel works very well and feels very natural. However the kindle paperwhite is much too small to be able to read a lot of the text and I think amazon should make it clear that these comic formats are not suitable for a kindle paperwhite. I then tried the comic on my ipad kindle and it was great, I had no problems reading the text and it was a great reading experience.
In summary, do not try and read this on a kindle tpaperwhite as the accessibility is poor, but it works well on an Ipad kindle app. I haven't got a kindle fire so I cannot comment on that experience.
It also looks like there is a bug in the kindle paperwhite reader as the panels on the first page appear as small black rectangles when you zoom in on them.

As a die hard dredd fan i'm always keen on a new release even one thats been released a few times...the cursed earth is one of the classic sagas that ran in 2000ad along with the likes of "judge child","the day the law died" and the apocalypse war ...repackaged in a smaller manga size format presumably to draw people from weird japanese stuff to some home grown greatness,me, i got it so i had a grat read in an easy to carry format...
unfortunately, it doesnt seem to translate well to this size as it is too small the text is tiny which can be a problem to the older generation who dont want to admit they might need glasses (ahem!) but the art as well loses a lot of it's impact ,comparing the first episode to the one printed in "the best of judge dredd" you notice it is at least half the size!
personally i would have thought some of the older daily star strips or the more recent "metro" ones would have been more able to cope with the smaller size the metro ones in particular as the art is more "modern" and the artists had a "mangaesque" quality to them and the six pnel format would have fit on the page better without giving me eyestrain ...

The actual size of the book is the only problem here. I was expecting it to be the size of the old 2000ad comic but it is the size of a regular paperback. This shrinks the artwork and lettering too much, in my opinion.

Was already a big Dredd/2000AD fan, but had always brought the "proper" graphic novels - even though I have had kindles and Tablets that would run the Kindle app for a number of years.
However, in the last month or so I have taken the plunge and downloaded this, and two other Graphic Novels direct to the Kindle to see what the experiance was like.
I have to say I was a little disappointed - but this is with the way the Kindle Displays the book, and not with the book its self. The Kindle systems seems a little clumsy to me. It works (sort of) but it isnt very elegant.

You will need a magnifying glass to read this. Bought as a birthday present but ended up lining the floor of my ferret cage as it is patently unreadable, unless you have zoom lenses!

Creo que no revise bien los detalles o tal vez no decia, pero el comic es pequeño como un manga.
En la foto se pueden apreciar los tamaños junto a lo que es un comic de tamaño regular, de igual manera lo recomiendo :)

Great blast from the past!

Oh man, this early Dredd collection was tons of fun. I used to read lots of 2000A.D. comics in the eighties, so I was happy when IDW recently rebooted Dredd. However, the new stuff can't hold up to the insanity of the original. This collection contains one the best story arcs featuring wild situations, frantic action, kooky characters and great chaotic art that gives everything a punk sensibility. They really don't make them like this anymore.

The cursed earth saga is an excellent group of stories from the earlier tales of judge dress. However I would recommend the paper version of the electronic version.
