Customer reviews
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 September 2013Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchasePerhaps a book everyone should read to gain a deeper understanding of Middle Eastern politics today. The deep need for and reasons behind the re-establishment of Israel as a Jewish homeland are often neglected by its critics and forgotten by its friends.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 October 2013Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchasethis somewhat reptetitive, sometimes unrealistic look at what the future might be nonetheless has some force in its earlier pages and helps explain the original vision of what might be, and to some extent, came to pass. Very rooted though in assumptions of its time.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 December 2017Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseSincere Jews of Theodor Herzl's time had rejected his colonialist agenda but his narrative of how White Jewish people should migrate had triumphed to the detriment of the native population.

Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseVery badly written: muddled, repetitive, and doesn't make sense. Herzl hasn't got his ideas sorted out yet. As the introduction - not by Herzl - explains.

R. ChenReviewed in the United States on 5 July 20115.0 out of 5 stars History of Zionism
Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseI am someone who is very interested in Zionism and the State of Israel. I've always heard of Herzl, the father of modern-day Zionism, and so decided to pick this up as my first read, especially because it was free! This edition was great enough to have a brief biography about Herzl, which helped to put the social and political context of his work before I actually read the political pamphlet. Yes, it's a political pamphlet, as he wrote and prepared it. It plots out his strategies, plans, and is a bit of a persuasive work to get the European powers to be on board with the early Jewish immigration to Israel.
This is a definite must read for anyone interested in the State of Israel, Zionism, or Jewish culture and history in general. It was also a quick and straight-forward read. There were no confusing uses of old-style language, legalese jargon, or even Hebrew/Yiddish.
