this is most definitely not an autobiography but rather a book of murrays life in poetry. Most of the book is like reading a very boring poem. I read the book because i wanted to know the figher and about the fights he had in the ring, i didnt want to read poetry. I found the book at best boring and after one chapter i was about to put it down but i kept reading incase it got better.... it didnt. The only possible way one could like this book is if they like poetry. i DONT! there are alot better autobiographies out there

I bought this book as I was interested in getting an alternative view on the sport and it seemed good value. How WRONG could I be. This is unarguably the WORST book I have ever read....actually the worst half-book as I discarded it half-way through it was so unbearably bad. Factually inaccurate, (Murray was demolished by Zeljko Mavrovic in 4 rounds...he didn't give him fits for nine rounds for the European title as he stated), this book is an attempt at poetic genius which results in confused drivel from the page one by someone obviously trying to be something they quite clearly are NOT. Do not go near this book unless you want to do your bit for recycling. It is AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL.....

I was curious about this book as my knowledge of Michael Murrey was as an opponent to some big name fighters and expected descriptions of debatable desisions and fixed fights. What I did not expect was brilliant explaination of the fighters psyche and a personal and moving read that exceeded all expectations. The book provides a unique insight into why men box, the characters associated with the sport, and the highs and the lows. I urge anyone with even a minor interest in the sport to buy it.
