My son reads this over and over again, on his own, at just 6yrs old and he absolutely loves it. An avid Star Wars fan, this series of DK readers has fostered a love of reading in him far more than any of his school scheme reading books. Highly recommended.

We've only recently discovered the DK Readers Star Wars books, but what a find they've been! I have two little boys at differing stages of learning to read, but both huge Star Wars fans, and these books have really fired them up and actually make them want to read.

This book, Journey Through Space, is a Level 2 book which is described as "Beginning to read alone". According to the book this means that it has: Longer sentences and increased vocabulary; Information boxes full of extra fun facts; a simple index.

In this lovely book, the child gets to take a tour of some of the planets that feature heavily within the Star Wars films. There is some interesting information about the planets and also about the inhabitants of the planets. The pictures, as with all of these books, are stunning and there are lots of them. Even if a child doesn't feel like attempting to read on a particular day, they will still enjoy browsing through the book and seeing all the different planets and people.

This book makes a lovely change from the school reading that my son brings home. He thinks that it is "a grown up book" because it looks impressive and doesn't have cartoons or anything like that in it! Of course, because of the nature of Star Wars, there are some tricky words in the book - particularly names. However, if you have a little Star Wars fan on your hands then the chances are they won't be too fazed by this and, in this book, there is pronunciation help with some of the trickier planet names etc. I think that they've done a great job with the text because they have managed to keep the sentences and language as simple as possible, but have still produced an interesting and fact filled read for a little one.

This is a fantastic book for all those little Star Wars fans out there! By two daughters, 4 and 6 both love it! I also bought some other ones in the series of these and my four year old has memorised the whole 25 pages of 'the Amazing Story of Luke Skywalker' it really is amazing! Pictures in these books are great too!

My 5 year old son is just getting into star wars and he loves this book. It has plenty of information, names and facts in it but is simple enough for him to try and read himself.
