HASH(0x87c5ba74) out of 5 stars Not much cycling 8 Jan. 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book had too little of the actual cycling experience and too many philosophical insights for my taste. I've read many accounts of long distance bike rides that I've enjoyed much, much more. I was hoping that the author would describe some of the sights he saw, the interactions he had with the people he met, etc. I would guess that of the 150 pages in the book, 10 - 15 pages actually dealt with cycling. On the other hand, maybe I bought the book for the wrong reasons!
HASH(0x8748dccc) out of 5 stars slow down, and consider life... 27 Mar. 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
do you know those books you have, whether they be old favorites, or simply the kind of book you like to glance at every once in a while? this is one of those -- a quick read, but over and over again, each time new and different, with insights into your own experience as the reward -- it will make you think, contemplate, smile, and think again, and it will be something you can look back to over and over again, each time with a new and fresh perspective -- that, and it's a hell of a story...
HASH(0x87bfdb1c) out of 5 stars A look into one's soul 11 April 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Having Jim as an instructor of Comparitive Religion I was very interested in this record of his journey. Not only did it provide the punchlines (so to say) to many in-class stories, but it also allowed me to delve deeper into this man's life and experience. He speaks of emotions and experiences many of us have had, but were never willing to talk about. One of those books that you can't put down (I read it in two days). Take a look at these pages and I'm sure your life will be changed.
