Love this book. Very interesting. Not the type of cover to cover in a sitting book, but I dip in and out when I fancy. Some of the copied pages are difficult to read but they are hand written in tiny writing and photocopied. I love the family tree at the front of the book, the illustrations and photos make it an all round interesting journal.

This ebook has been optimised for viewing on colour devices. Between the ages of 15 and 30 Beatrix Potter kept a secret diary written in code. When the code was cracked by Leslie Linder more than 20 years after her death, the diary revealed a remarkable picture of upper middle-class life in late Victorian Britain. This book provides an illuminating insight into the personality and inspiration of one of the world's best loved children's authors.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Wow! I never knew Beatrix wrote in secret code! So interesting to find a book showing her secret journal. Very nicely presented and showing many of her illustrations outside the Peter Rabbit realm, and photographs of her family and even a family tree! This book is an absolute treasure for anyone who is a Beatrix Potter officionado! The book arrived promptly and in very good condition just as it was advertised. Thank you!

It's great to be introduced to the humorous Ms Potter. This is a good foundation to other interesting books about her.
