An irresistible story of love and loss, of political intrigue and revolution, and of the transformation of an impressionable young girl into one of the most sophisticated and powerful women in history, THE JOSEPHINE BONAPARTE TRILOGY comprises three spellbinding books inspired by the life of Joséphine Bonaparte.
From her simple childhood on the French island of Martinique and her first heady experience in revolutionary Paris to her turbulent marriage to Napoléon, Joséphine's destiny lay with the man determined to rule all of France, determined to make her Empress.

About the author

I was born in Miami, Florida, in 1944, and lived in Rio de Janeiro, Berkeley, San Francisco and Chicago before immigrating to Canada in 1970 to teach in an Inuit village in northern Labrador for one year.
Settling in Toronto, I worked as a book editor for a decade before moving with my husband and two children to a log house in northern Ontario. Juggling children, a dog, three cats, pigs, chickens and a succession of horses, I worked as a freelance editor for five years before committing to writing full-time in 1985.
Ten years later, the first of the novels in the JOSEPHINE B. TRILOGY was published. (The trilogy is now published in 15 countries and in 13 languages.) MISTRESS OF THE SUN, my 4th novel, was published in 2008 (and is now in 8 languages). THE SHADOW QUEEN, a "sister" novel to MISTRESS OF THE SUN, was published in the spring of 2013 and is also published internationally.
THE GAME OF HOPE, a young adult novel about Hortense, Josephine Bonaparte's daughter (and Napoleon's stepdaughter), will soon be published in Canada and the US.
Our children grown, my husband and I now live half the year in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and half in Ontario.

I always like to be positive, but I just couldnt read them in that silly format, for me it lost the wonder and the Romance of it all...I still want to read about her life and Times, but am at a loss now as to how to find a truly authentic book...I do wonder if the person who sold these books, found the same as me
I know much more about France and Napoleon, his wife Josephine and war than I did before. Its like a really good French history text book without the boring bits and is much more personal.
I enjoyed these books and highly recommend them.
