Welcome, I'm Jon Hotten, the author of Muscle, the result of a two-year trip through the mad, bad world of professional bodybuilding, and The Years Of The Locust, a non-fiction account of a murder and its consequences with big-time boxing as its backdrop.
You can probably tell from those brief descriptions the kind of subjects I like to write about, although I hope that the books aren't as straightforward as that makes them seem. One of the things I've learned in the extreme arenas of musclemen and the ring is that things are very rarely straightforward.
I love reading of course - some of my favourite writers are Bret Easton Ellis, Martin Amis, Jonathan Rendall, Donna Tartt, James Robert Baker, Charles Bukowski and too many more to list here. I also like to blog - I'm at jonhotten dot blogspot dot com and - if you really do have a lot of time on your hands and like cricket - at theoldbatsman dot blogspot dot com.
Thanks to everyone who's bought and read the books, and especially to people who've left reviews - always great to read them.
