Product description

Product Description

Five-volume collection of films featuring superstar actor Johnny Depp. In 'Arizona Dream' (1991), after his parents' death, fish counter Axel Backmar (Depp) travels to Arizona for the wedding of his car dealer uncle Leo Sweetie (Jerry Lewis). Feeling responsible for Axel, Leo offers to take him into the family business. While working at the car showroom, Axel meets older woman Elaine (Faye Dunaway) and her stepdaughter Grace (Lili Taylor). Axel alienates his uncle by beginning an affair with Elaine, who is obsessed with building a functioning aircraft, and he also becomes caught up in the deteriorating relationship between her and Grace. 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape' (1993) is a quirky observational comedy drama from Swedish director Lasse Hallstrom ('My Life As A Dog'). Gilbert Grape (Depp) leads a dull life in desolate backwater, Endora, Iowa, looking after his overweight mother and his mentally unstable brother (Leonardo DiCaprio). When a mysterious girl moves to town with her grandparents, Gilbert's life begins to change. 'Dead Man' (1995) is set in 19th century America and tells the story of William Blake (Depp), who travels West to take up a position at Dickinson's metal works, only to find that the vacancy has already been filled. A series of chaotic and violent confrontations leaves Blake wounded, but he is befriended by a native American named Nobody (Gary Farmer), who takes him on a spiritual journey. The film is directed by Indie guru Jim Jarmusch. 'Sleepy Hollow' (1999) is director Tim Burton's gothic detective story, steeped in the traditions of American myth and the style of Hammer horror. At the beginning of the 19th Century, New York pathologist Ichabod Crane (Depp) is sent to the remote town of Sleepy Hollow to investigate the gruesome deaths of a number of the community's figureheads. Despite his attempts to find a rational explanation for the decapitated bodies that continue to turn up with alarming regularity, Crane comes to the conclusion that the killings are the work of an axe-wielding headless horseman. 'Lost in La Mancha' (2002) is a documentary telling the story of director Terry Gilliam's unfinished film version of 'Don Quixote'. Featuring extensive on-set footage, the film shows how Gilliam coped (or failed to cope) with the illness of his star Jean Rochefort, unrehearsed extras, torrential rain, the destruction of his sets, and the concerns of his financial backers. After five days filming with Rochefort and co-star Depp, the former's ailments finally caused him to return home, but Gilliam continued the fight to get his film made...
