More or less contemporary with the release of Metal Box, this download features versions of three songs from that album. There are no big surprises here - they stick pretty much to the arrangements of the Metal Box versions, the only notable difference being that Poptones and Careering swap runtimes so the former is more than 3 minutes shorter and the latter 3 minutes longer; Chant is about the same length. They do sound a tad more live than the album versions though, probably featuring a lot less overdubs given a short session at Maida Vale. But despite the similarities, the sheer quality of the performances - superb throughout, with a feast of evil synth noises on the extended Careering - makes this a worthwhile purchase if you're a fan.

Not quite sure why it isn't available on CD, especially with renewed activity on the PiL front - economics I guess - but it's a welcome release for sure.
