Award winning international author, John Houghton, writes for those who don't follow the crowd and who have the courage and curiosity to explore the road less travelled.
Of no particular denominational persuasion, John writes as a Christian humanist, and this is reflected in his many writings which range from children's fantasy, through radical lifestyle, theological and philosophical reflections, and adult fiction.
The writing journey began with his first children's book, Hagbane's Doom, which was a conscious tribute to JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis. Thereafter, the 5 volume series developed its own independent direction and character and laid the foundation for much of his adult writing.
Although still publishing some of his work through conventional publishers, John recently launched his own digital imprint, John Durham Books - novels that challenge convention, explore the boundaries, and provoke reflection. This is for his adult fiction and that of others who share similar values.
Most of John's books are available through Amazon and you can find out more through his web sites www.johnhoughton.org.uk and www.oswaintales.co.uk
John's hobbies include painting and drawing, organic vegetable growing, wood shaping and badminton. He is also a founder member of Wessex Writers, a trustee of Catalyst Arts, and an itinerant speaker and lecturer.
