This is the first full John Fogerty concert i've seen and it doesn't disappoint. After his mid 80's success, he retreated back into the wilderness again, only to re-emerge with with a new album and finally content with playing his CCR classics. This DVD is decent. The sound is good and the picture is fine. His voice at this concert is classic Fogerty and it has a great mix of solo greats and CCR gems. The set oozes deep south swampy bayou. As someone who practically, to my knowledge, invented southern rock, he, along with his band, stands in front of a cabin and old mans beard draped everywhere. He opens up to rapturous applause with Born on the Bayou. His guitar playing is amazing. Green River, which is probably my favourity CCR song, is mind blowing. When he started showing off at the end of the song his guitar playing, I was entranced. His band are great, (most notably the drummer), and he excels doing his solo material, particularly 'Joy of my life', which was from the album he was promoting. A grand country/southern ballad, it was written about his wife. This song is one of the highlights of the show. He keeps you hooked to the end and he sings 'Proud Mary' and 'Travellin band' as his encore. He never strays much away from the original songs, only where it is necessary, and he realy engages with the audience. A must for any John Fogerty fan.

I bought all the Creedence and John Fogerty solo LPs when they first came out on vinyl and their re-releasing on CDs merely affirmed how timeless all the music was - it still rocked out in the 1980s and 1990s and 21st century despite subsequent music trends moving away from the rawness and simplicity of the original lyrics and playing.
I finally got to see the man when he supported Tina Turner on her farewell tour at Wembley a few years ago and based on that excellent set have finally bought this DVD as a memory (having I must admit been disappointed by the preceding "Premonition" audio CD)- the whole disc is great; the setting in a Hollywood swamp cabin on the bayou setting is ideal and the small auditorium plays to his getting the audience up and rocking. Backed by a trio of guitars and drums with the occassional "walk on" black backing group harmonies, he works through a set (taken from two subsequent nights recordings in 1997) that has a dominance of his CCR and early solo stuff plus some of his less memorable more recent titles.
The sound and visuals are great and while as with his live set when I saw him in London, I find the man's "promenading at the front" with his backing group being there as merely backdrop gripes after a few viewings, there is little doubt he is still in fine shape and form both vocally and musically. Given the complete lack of any CCR video material (I can remember a BBC 2 US special in the early 1970s which has I think never been repeated) this is likely to be all you will be able to get for some time to see and hear at the same time one of rock and roll's true originals.

Its taken far to long for this DVD to be issued for the UK market. I don't know why it should be that why. John Fogerty must be the father of rock n roll so distribution companies should have more respect. Everyone should buy this and learn from a real musician.

Great performance by an immense artist, with skilled musicians (better than the original CCR). BUT this DVD show from 1998 is marred by too much camera moves and over-editing: each shot lasts no more than 6 seconds. The cameras on cranes are moving all the time and it does not take much time to get dizzy. One cannot follow the chords on the guitar or concentrate on anything. And I don't like this Korean DVD cover with the inverted photo showing Fogerty on the acoustic guitar, who seems to be playing left-hand... The only positive point is that you can follow the lyrics on subtitles during all songs. So 5 stars for Mr. Fogerty and 0 for the technical crew. Potential buyers should look at other shows on the UK Amazon.

JOHN FOGERTY PREMONITION KOREAN ALL REGION IMPORT
This DVD, recorded 1998, was together with the CDs Blue Moon Swamp and Premonition, part of the comeback for Creedence legend, John Fogerty. And now in the year of 2009, we know he is back for good. The dvd contains songs from the happy Creedence-days, earlier solo-stuff and songs from the Blue Moon Swamp cd. And off course the title song Premonition, never recorded before on any other cd or dvd. The dvd shows a happy-to-be-back Fogerty. The sad times are forgotten. This version of Premonition are imported from South Korea, but the contents and quality is just the same as on the original. Only difference is the frontcover. But a great dvd for all music lovers and Fogerty-fans.

This was my first DVD music title, and I was very impressed. If you like John Fogerty/Creedence or is a classic rock fan, this title is a must buy.
The disc itself contains a live show preformed in 1997 at a studio, but it did not gave the impression of beeing "staged". Sadly the video is in 4:3 only, but it's in the music department this baby really shines.
The 5.1 Dolby Digital track is absolutley great. You can hear different guitars and other instruments comming from seperate speakers, and the overall quality of the sound was very impressive. I thought the LFE (bass channel) was a bit overused, but since you can turn down the volume on all seperate channels in a DD 5.1 system, this was no problem.
The only thing I was a bit dissapointed over was that the disc didn't contain any extras. It would have been nice if they had thrown in an interview with John or something more from his early times with Creedence.
But that is not why you buy this disc, you are going to listen to this great DVD over and over again, comes higly recommended!!
