Not just for DSLR's....
on 15 December 2016
Bought this for my Lumix DMC-LX100 as I hated the OEM shoulder strap. It now makes the camera much easier to operate quickly (especially 1-handed), and it has made it much easier getting it in and out of my camera bag/case without a cumbersome strap to worry about.
Regarding the quality, it appears to be very well made, using above average materials. The finish is a very pleasing metallic grey, and the webbing seems to be of good quality (...only time will tell!). Regarding the length, it is perfect (for me). I'm a 220lb male, with fairly large hands, but I can fit into the cinch reasonably readily, leaving just the right amount of slack to manipulate the camera easily. A word of warning for those with exceptionally large hands, though - the cinch's slip-mechanism is THAT effective, that I sometimes struggle getting my hand back out! The cinch's diameter is approximately 8.5cm, if you want to check with string or something before ordering.
Finally - a note on the double-looped buckle attachment which appears to be confusing a few other reviewers. You can follow the JOBY guide - which I personally thought was a reasonably simple process, even for a sausage-fingered dim-witted oaf such as myself, OR if you're an LX100 owner, you can double-loop it the same way as the original Lumix shoulder strap (as per the instructions on p13 of the Quickstart manual). Both styles have worked fine for me, and I am more than happy that my camera is securely attached to the strap. Other reviewers have expressed a few concerns regarding the webbing slipping through the buckle, however once double-looped, I can't physically replicate this, even by repeatedly (and violently) yanking the strap! So, with the exception of swinging the camera around like a cowboy lassoing cattle, in my opinion the camera is secure. I'll report back in a few months time as to any slippages.
