Work smart with Joby's Gorillatorch. The adjustable tripod flashlight is hands-free, making it easy to work with both hands in the darkest of places. Tackle even your toughest of chores--the flexible, bendable legs and powerful magnetic feet make it easy to attach the flashlight at any angle, in any location, to illuminate your work space.
The Gorillatorch delivers a powerful beam fuelled by its ultra-bright 65-lumen Cree LED, making it a wonderful work or reading light. Simply turning the knob allows you to adjust the brightness level seamlessly up to a blinding 65 lumens, allowing you to select the best type of light for the task at hand. At its brightest setting, the Gorillatorch offers 20 hours of continuous use, while you'll get up to 80 hours of battery life on the lowest setting. The Gorillatorch uses three AA batteries (not included). Designed with real-life situations in mind, like changing batteries in the dark, all the batteries slide into the torch in the same direction.
Using over two dozen leg joints that bend and rotate 360 degrees, you can securely attach your Gorillatorch to just about anything--use its bendable legs to attach it to the bedpost for lights-out reading, wrap it onto a tree branch to illuminate your campsite, or even straighten the legs and use it as a handheld flashlight to walk the dog. Using its powerful neodymium magnetic feet, the Gorillatorch Flare can attach itself to metal surfaces such as car hoods when checking the engine, late night tyre changes, or a fuse box door during power outages. Your imagination is the only limit when it comes to using your Gorillatorch.
Built with tough, durable ABS plastic body and polycarbonate lens, the Gorillatorch is ready to illuminate your adventures. In case things get wet, it's built water resistant (certified IPX5), meaning that it withstands water sprayed at it from every angle. With the Gorillatorch, you'll have light no matter how hard it rains.
Ready for rough work environments, the Gorillatorch is impact resistant and has been tested to sustain drops of up to two meters (six feet). When the job is done, the Gorillatorch's ultra-adaptable form factor enables you to stow it anywhere, from your car boot to your backpack. Using the magnetic feet, even the refrigerator door can make a good habitat for this little guy.

One niggle. If you own a gorilla pod for a camera you'll probably close it up with the legs tight together when not in use... I wouldn't do that with this one. The magnetic ends attract each other and this can lead to loss of magnetic power. Best to leave a small gap between ends.
Good product overall, if perhaps a little smaller than you might think. The gorilla pod on which the torch sits is the same size as the small one used for compact cameras and the torch is the size of a head lamp used for camping etc.
I was hoping to be able to leave the batteries in the unit instead of removing after each use.
I don't have to do this with any other torch I own or have owned or any electrical product so what was wrong with this Joby Torch?
Product lasted less than 1 month and now been consigned to a drawer awaiting another inspection.
The magnetic feet are really strong, and the torch is really bright, even though it isn't a very even glow - it has a very bright small spot in the centre, with a glow around it.
The only bad point to it, and the reason i gave it 4 stars, is that the battery pack on the back is rather big and bulky and would have probably been better if the batteries were in line with the light (like an actual torch).
Apart from that small matter, it's a great piece of equipment.
You do need 3 AA batteries for this, however they last forever as it is an LED torch.
Worth every penny!!
