To write a review about a small item such as a guitar plectrum may seem trivial. But if you've struggled to find the right pick to the point where you've opted not to use one at all (for fear of going mad through frustration), you might have an idea of how it feels to finally find one that works well for you.

I struggled to play steady shuffle strumming patterns on both electric and acoustic guitars using a pick. Like other reviewers standard Tortex picks kept slipping in my hand. Although after I bought a Tortex selection of picks I did find the yellow .73 and orange .66 thicknesses to be best for me - but not perfect, which how I arrived at this point.

I'd recommend anyone who is experiencing similar problems to buy the Dunlop Plectrum Selection on Amazon. This contains a range of 12 picks (Nylon and Standard) in various thicknesses. It might help you identify the right pick types and thicknesses for your style of playing.

I've read that most players move on to thicker picks eventually, but for the present the nylon .60 works well for me - great for acoustic guitar strumming, no problems with shuffle strumming patterns (which is a big confidence booster and helps me make progress as a player), no frustration caused by slipping picks and good for lead work on an acoustic guitar.

Good service from supplier Dirty Riffs Guitar Shop also.

Having played guitar for over 30 years its hard to get excited by a plectrum but these really are different. The grip you get is genuinely vastly superior to anything else on the market- Its kind of like holding sandpaper but in a really comfortable way.

If you gig and get sweaty hands these would make a real difference.

Why anybody uses any other kind of plectrum I'll never know. It's a shame they're only available in grey as they look a bit pedestrian, but they last a long time, are easy to grip, and have just the right amount of flex to allow for speedy strumming whilst being stiff enough for accurate picking.

I'm really pleased with these, nice and thin/flexible so you get a loud warm and rice tone from acoustic strings. Thicker picks are too harsh for an acoustic in my opinion. These picks also have a fairly good grip, so you can hold them nice and loose without them slipping.

These picks feel and sound harder than the USA Nylon .60mm or non-Max Grip Dunlop .60mm picks I have already, but they have very good grip, and do make my Martin 000X1AE sound more full and louder, so I'm pretty pleased.

First review I've ever bothered to write for a product, so it took something special. Tortex picks were driving me up the wall, slipping all over the place even when I thought I was gripping them tightly. These are simply a cut above, it feels strange to get so excited over a pick, but its improved my practice time 100%, no more checking the right hand every 10 seconds.

When i bought them i thought they would be made of the "matte" plastic that's present in so many plectrums. They're not. Anyway, the grip sure is nice so i don't mind recomending them.

great strummer, lovely warm sound and I never drop it. Not sure it would work for lead work tho as too soft
