Jessie is the first book by Anna Jacobs that I read. I found it to be a very absorbing tale, full of lots of little titbits of information regarding life on the railway gangs. It is clearly written making for a very relaxing and easy read - great for holidays and trips.
I enjoyed reading it so much, that I immediately went out and bought several more of Anna Jacobs novels!

I have read most of Anna Jacobs book and have enjoyed most of them. I loved this book. Once started I could not put it down. It's amazing to think that people used to live like this and makes you feel so grateful for modern day technologies. It was a lovely heart warming book.

It was a gripping story for light reading which was just right post op. The English is good and some good research of the social history of the time in which it was set. I would recommend it to anyone who likes an easy read.

As with all Anna Jacob's books - once I start reading them I just cannot put the book down. Always an excellent story line, history facts included into most of the stories which makes interesting reading. Love to read her books. Jessie was a great story.

I have read many of Anna Jacobs books, this one like many of her books was very hard to put down once you started to read it.
its about a story of a young girl/woman who over came many difficulties in her life, to achieve a really postive outcome and find true happiness.
highly recommend it .

This is the first one of Anna Jacobs novels I have read that is based entirely in England, and it is just as good as all her other books I cannot put it down. I am still waiting for the one I ordered in July which you have been waiting for. There is still more of Anna Jacobs I have not read yet.
