Johannes Aschauer, Otto Klär and David Zwilling - two policemen and a former ski racing champion - undertook this extraordinary pilgrimage and life changing journey. Overcoming obstacles on their way, remembering the lessons of history, and deciding to finish together and working even afterwards towards a mission of peace. On their way, they retraced the Crusades, hiked on paths once tread by Apostle Paul, and followed various historic pilgrim trails through 10 countries all the way to the Holy Land of Israel. This book reports about their travels, offers insights into the life of a pilgrim in general, and strikingly tells of the adventures, encounters, and experiences of the three Jerusalem pilgrims. With practical instructions, reports on historical events, personal experiences, spiritual encounters and insights, as well as many color photographs and clear road maps round out this unique travelogue. Those who enter into this book will find themselves accompanying them in spirit and, through their spiritual journey, gaining confidence in God!

For anyone who wants to know what it means to be a walking pilgrim; a dedicated life of day-to-day uncertainty, but filled with the hope and faith as one travels through unknown lands…this is an enthralling read.
I congratulate them on the success of their journey, and the journey they continue to share as they help to build the Jerusalem Way (an International Peace Project); a road for future pilgrims to travel. It is a journey I hope to make one day, but by bicycle.
