Meet Jessica Kent - a 14-year-old from South London. Jessica knows nothing about her mother as she died giving birth to her and her father has not spoken of her ever since. All Jessica knows about her mother is that she came from Jersey and when, out of the blue, a letter arrives from her great uncle inviting Jess and her father to spend a holiday with him in Jersey she sees it as a perfect opportunity to discover who her mother really was. However, in doing so, Jessica unwittingly uncovers a dangerous world of pagan religion, witchcraft, demons and secrets - soon Jessica has more to deal with than her mother's identity. Teaming up with Jake LeBlanc, a wise-cracking local boy and Elsa Noir, a timid and sickly young girl with a disturbing past, Jessica sets out to uncover the truth about the Jersey Demon. In "The Jersey Guardian", Holly J. Williams writes with a haunting imagination while exploring the challenges of self-knowledge and the difficult journey from youth to maturity. This is a thrilling fantasy adventure that will appeal to young readers age 12 and over who enjoy the novels of Philip Pullman or Diana Wynne Jones.
About the Author
After a difficult birth during which Holly J. With the support of her large and loving family, Holly went on to enjoy a fulfilled and happy childhood and attended the Chailey Heritage School in Sussex where, at 13 she wrote her first book Animal High, a book of short stories published by The Book Guild. After passing her GCSEs in seven subjects, Holly went on to Lord Mayor Treloar's College to study photography and media studies. Holly now works part-time at a disability issues consultancy and lives with her parents at Crowborough, Sussex.
