Jeff Bradbury is a retired civil servant living in Yorkshire, England. His interests are a mixture of the highbrow and the lowbrow; he might be discovered tangling with a cryptic crossword or a passage from Cicero, or enjoying an episode of a 1970s sitcom. His own brow is getting higher with the advancing years.
His literary influences are mostly from the modernist avante-garde, the English comic tradition and post-war northern realism. He particularly admires the work of James Joyce, Evelyn Waugh and Stan Barstow. His long-standing favourite author, however, is Patrick Hamilton. Some contemporary esteemed writers are Will Self, Ian McEwan and Kazuo Ishiguro. Jeff writes plays as well as prose and his heroes from the world of drama include Joe Orton, Harold Pinter and John Osborne. A sample of Jeff's dramatic output should be available in e-book form in the coming months.
