Very competent arrangements of some of the most popular standards. Offers a choice of playing from the melody and chords, like a fakebook, or following the written-out scores; both work well. I'd judge the written-out scores to be of around ABRSM grade 5-6 standard. I not sure what constitutes a "dummy," where playing the piano is concerned -- I think you'd need to have at least some modest skill to make use of this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for dummies or beginners at all. You need to be able to read music to use this. No instruction at all. 23 Nov. 2015

For "Dummies"? You need to be able to sight read sheet music to be able to use this book. All it has is a bunch of songs, with no instruction whatsoever. You can download the same exact thing for free and print what you want to work on. This is 46 songs you may or may not want to learn. Unless you already know how to read music it is useless. The only thing good is that it has guitar chords. I advise anyone who wants to learn jazz piano to download a jazz 'cheat' book in PDF. If you want to learn a song, just print the song. This is not even a good book for using if you can read music since it does not have a ringed binder (The pages will not stay in place as it sits on the music stand) I really feel like I was cheated with this. I was looking for an instruction book, not a bunch of songs that I can't read.

Very enjoyable, advanced beginner/intermediate level! I really like this book and my piano teacher liked it so much too that I bought a copy for her, which she loves.
