With sidesplitting dialogue and rampant profanity, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back reunites Kevin Smith's dynamic duo in supreme lowbrow style. It's the fifth comedy in Smith's celebrated New Jersey "trilogy". Here Quick-Stop potheads Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith) wreak vengeance on Hollywood, where Miramax is making a "Bluntman & Chronic" feature inspired by J and SB, but without their permission. En route from Jersey to La La Land, Jay and his "hetero lifemate" encounter sexy jewel thieves (including the delightful Shannon Elizabeth), a precocious orang-utan, a dimwit wildlife marshal (Will Ferrell), and a non-stop parade of in-jokes, harmless (yet controversial) gay jokes, and splendid celebrity cameos. While gently biting the Miramax hand that feeds him, and paying affectionate homage to the Star Wars saga, Smith sheds all inhibitions to give Jay and Silent Bob a stellar send off that's nasty, sassy and undeniably hilarious. --Jeff ShannonSee all Product Description

The only special feature is the audio commentary and there is no subtitles on this Blu-Ray edition which I have confirmed.
One of my favourite highlights is the scene with Carrie Fisher. 'It's easy to say you live by the book, but can you? Can you live by the book?' 'Well, you picked us up. I gotta, don't I?' Classic Smith humour.
If you don't split your sides laughing at least once during this movie then there's no hope for you!
I had to get the four prior Smith movies before I'd let myself watch this (that was the geek in me) and I'm so glad I did, otherwise half of the 'in jokes' would have just gone over the top of my head. On the other hand I think this would be enjoyable to anyone who isn't easily offended.
There are just too many favourite scenes for me to mention, but one that springs to mind right now is the scene outside of the diner! Just. Too. Funny! Not to mention the commentary, deleted scenes (complete with introductions from Smith and Jason Mewes) a gag reel and hours of other cool stuff.
This is the ultimate culmination of the dynamic duo that is Jay and Silent Bob, and although I'm sad to see them go, this movie rocks!
But be aware that the ‘US Disney’ BLU RAY is REGION-A LOCKED - so it WILL NOT PLAY on most UK Blu Ray players unless they're chipped to play 'all' regions (which the vast majority aren't). Don’t confuse BLU RAY players that have multi-region capability on the 'DVD' front – that won’t help.
Buy the standard UK issue instead - it's cheap - a looker on BLU RAY and a fun ride like The Coen Brothers firing on all sixes…
For a long time i have always thought us Brits were the best at delivering toilet humour and vulgarity to a film, but i have to say Kevin Smith gives us a run for our money here. However, like the American pie movies, this is only likely to strike a chord with the younger adult audiences, and the older generations probably won't get the jokes and tut tut at the huge amount of profanity.
Basically Jay and Silent Bob are a couple of stoners who hang out at a convenience store in New Jersey, and they have had comic book characters based upon them. Once they hear that a movie is being produced using their characters but with real actors, they embark on a mission to stop the film causing havok throughout their journey. On their way they meet some of the American pie cast and you will see a lot of references to other movies.
All in all this is a great value Dvd set comprising 2 discs. The features disc is colossal with some extremely funny outakes that you wished were left in the theatrical release. Picture and sound are of a very high quality and if you have a dirty sense of humour, this is a must for your collection and superb value for money. Buy it!
but the movie still rocks
