The Standard Stanley Gibbons Catalogue, which first appeared in 1865, is now published in 22 parts. The first edition of the Japan and Korea section of the world-acclaimed Stanley Gibbons Stamps Catalogue to be published in 11 years, the 5th edition is sure to be welcomed by the considerable number of collectors of these interesting stamps. As well as listing 11 year's new issues, this edition will be notable as the first to be published in colour, which, given the fact that all stamp designs are illustrated for Japan, will make stamp identification considerably easier for the collector. A number of editorial additions and amendments have been made, including, for the first time, a full listing of the Japanese Prefecture Issues from 1989 to date. The Japanese Occupation issues of World War II have also been added, alongside those of the 'Foreign' post offices in both Japan and Korea. A significant new addition to the Stanley Gibbons Catalogue range, the 5th edition of Japan and Korea will be needed by all collectors of this increasingly popular area
Top customer reviews
There are a few typo's but nothing too serious.
The main quibble is that some stamps aren't pictured, which is fine if a stamp has the same picture only different colour but not when the designs are different.
The colour stamp reproductions are well produced.
What does let this volume down is the Prefecture Stamp section, this does'nt help the collector at all and you will have to get another catalogue to help
Beside that it's a good tool for the collectors of Japan.
