"One of the best books about a rock figure...Buried Alive is unquestionably an accomplishment and it may well be the best portrait we'll have of Janis." -- Rolling Stone

I have to strongly disagree that it is "the worst book ever written" or is "unreadable". Any fan worth their sort, will glean as much of an insight into Janis's life and times as they will from any other biography written about her. I liked it so much I've read it twice and will read it again in the future. To ignore 'Buried Alive' would be to miss out important facets of Janis's professional life as well as private pain.

Format: Paperback
Janis joplin -the original female rebel, with a wealth of amazing and disturbing life details to draw on. what interesting information about the star is in the book is largely hidden by it's completely unreadable nature. It is one of the most badly written books I have ever read and even the most diehard fan will find it like the worst homework assignment you've ever been set. you would be much better off listening to the pain in her voice and drawing your own conclusions.

I ordered this book as a Christmas present for my son who is a big fan of Janis Joplin. The book arrived in good time and I did read it myself before wrapping it up for him. This is one of the most revealing books I have ever read about Janis's life. A superb read for anyone who is interested in Joplin and the music scene of time. Such a tragedy she died so young.
