Product Description

Action starring Rob Lowe and Teri Hatcher. A few days ago, Jane Doe (Hatcher) was working for a computer security company. Now she finds herself a fugitive, pursued for a murder she didn't commit and for a disc believed to be in her possession. This case of mistaken identity is tolerated momentarily, but soon Miss Doe will be making quite a stir as she reforms herself into a fighting machine and prepares to put a toe tag upon those who hunt her.

In this 2001 made for Tv crime thriller Jane Doe (Teri Hatcher) has been recently laid off and learns her teenage son Michael (Trevor Blumas) has been kidnapped and she has to obey some bizarre instructions, such as learning how to use a rifle. After downloading a secret file she sees her former company's CEO shot by a sniper using an identical weapon. Michael is released, but the pair are now wanted for the murder. What do they do now and who can be trusted?
Fast paced from the start, this may not be the most original plot, but it does have tension and plenty of atmosphere. There are some twists that help keep this interesting which helps counter some basic flaws that destroy the credibility in places but they are easily overlooked. With a crisp clear sound, sharp picture and good overall acting, this punches above its weight.
The single disc opens to 4 trailers before offering simply play or scene selection. As an 18 rating this has some limited swearing, no nudity or sex [other than a threatened rape with unseen groping]. The violence is typical low key ‘cops n robbers’ stuff, so the 18 rating is a bit bizarre. As a 15 rating this is a worthwhile *****, but advertised as an 18, it’s really **** adventure hokum.

I'm quite surprised by the enthusiasm this movie has received. It's an okay thriller. The plot that has more holes than a Gouda cheese, but that's nothing new in the movie industry. The acting is solid. I like Terri Hatcher and she acts her way well through this. Not much more to say. Reasonable way to pass an hour and a half.

A great opening scene and strong acting alas aren't enough, for the plot quickly slips into something so full of holes there isn't really much plot left standing and the 'development' of the characters is clunky and full of cliches. The acting and a decent pace of action make this a passable film, but with so many other 'innocent person framed as they struggle with their family' films out there, there isn't that much to commend this one for your watching time.

A bit corny and cheesy, very implausible plot at times but enjoyable and full of action. If you are looking for a clever film, this not the one to watch but if you want an easy 1h30 mns, grab your coffee, sit down and relax. No suspense, very predictable but acting is good and special effects not bad.

I was going to say 'average', however that bar has been lowered in recent times IMHO, so I'll say it was pretty good. Yes, of course we know from the start how it will play out, but they kept it entertaining. Hope this review was not overly informative.
