I've been feeding my cats this premium brand James Wellbeloved dry food in its various varieties for almost 13 years, no ill effects and all are healthy to this day.
Good size nibbles, sort of average frozen "Pea" size or slightly smaller, which all my cats seem to manage well, even 2 with a few missing fangs.
the 4kg bag snap-seal is OK to seal back up, but can be fiddly & take a few try's, the 10kg bags i Used to buy were pretty unreliable due to their weight & bulk moving around. a tougher Zip lock would be easier.

Was very helpful when a frightened starving feral kitten turned up at my door (i adopted her, Mrs Minnie mouse😻) She had terrible diarrhoea for 9+ months despite repeated worming & vet visits, this JW turkey when I started giving it to her did seem to improve her poos quite noticeably, not a total cure at the time, but 4-5 days out of 7 much firmer and less frequent visits to litter tray - from 4 to 5 pure liquid visits down to 1 or 2 soft shaped to normal in a day!
I believed this helped after a week or less, (the vet advice was a good quality dry food - JamesW was mentioned, or veterinary diet dry/wet food) I had already been feeding them RC, but Mouse was given this exclusively.
She did clear up totally after just over a year, so never quite sure of the cause, she eats these with a mix of regular wet & dry since then!

A big hit with most my others, only one not so keen, but she likes the fish version, as all the others.. I'd say they have a preference to this Turkey flavour though, it seems to go down the quickest!
Shame they do not do the "Duck" flavour they produced many years back anymore - a hit with all!

My only gripe is the PRICE, (Amazon subscribe & save was cheapest i could find by £7+) JW - you were already an expensive 'premium brand' before - Wish some companies would stop using flimsy inflation/war/pandemic excuses to hike the price of products by ridiculous increases - its called just pure commercial Greed. Stop Milking Us !!
I've already dropped & refuse to buy R.Canin because of that, sad to see JW following suit - if it comes to it, I will dump them too & find something else just as good & more affordable for all my cats. JW & RC's loss not mine!

Als Tierhalter probiere ich was neues für unsere KItties gerne aus, darum habe ich mir dieses Futter zum Test bestellt. Die Katzen sind begeistert. Wenn nur der Geruch nicht wäre.

Das Futter wird in einer sehr stabilen und wiederverschließbaren Plastiktüte geliefert. Schon beim Öffnen schlägt einem ein unüblich starker Geruch nach Fisch entgegen. Das ist natürlich per se nicht schlecht, aber wenn der Napf in einem kleineren Raum steht und das Fenster geschlossen bleibt, dann liegt schon nach relativ kurzer Zeit der leicht muffige "Duft" von getrocknetem Fisch überall in der Luft.

Die Katzen nehmen das Futter sehr gut an - bei einer Testgabe mit 50% des üblichen und 50% "Wellbeloved" Futter war eine klare Präferenz für die neue Sorte erkennbar. Für übliches Leckerli - Dreamies Knuspertaschen Thunfisch - lassen sie aber nach wie vor beide Futtervarianten sofort stehen.

FAZIT

Deutlich kostspieliger als unser übliches Trockenfutter - da wird wohl mindestens ein Teil des Aufpreises in hochwertigere Zutaten geflossen sein. Das merken auch die Tiere und nehmen das Futter gerne an.
An den starken Geruch muss man sich aber etwas gewöhnen, oder einen Spender verwenden, der das Futter vor Luft schützt und immer nur kleine Mengen freisetzt.

It smells so good, I could almost eat it myself. The ingredients are very interesting - chicory in it My cats look very healthy when they eat it and care comes first! One of my cats also gets sore gums (she refuses to eat soft meat foods) and these biscuits are smaller than usual which she finds easier to chew. Dieses Vine-Produkt „JAMES WELLBELOVED Katze Trockenfutter Truthahn – 1,5 kg“ erhielt ich kostenlos zum Testen, meine Objektivität beeinflusst dies jedoch nicht.

Trockenfutter bekommt mein Kater grundsätzlich nur als Zusatzfutter – vor allem, um die Zähne zu pflegen. Er ist inzwischen 14 Jahre alt, und die jährliche Kontrolle beim Tierarzt war zuletzt wieder sehr erfreulich: kein Zahnstein, keine Entzündungen, alles gesund. Das spricht klar für die mechanische Wirkung von hochwertigem Trockenfutter – wenn es denn auch gefressen wird.

Denn obwohl ich stets gutes Trockenfutter auswähle, knatscht mein Kater meist nur wenig davon – mit geduldiger Miene und einem Blick, der eher nach Pflicht als nach Genuss aussieht.

Umso überraschender war die Reaktion auf dieses Produkt: Das Futter wirkt optisch unspektakulär – gleichmäßig geformt, gleicher Farbton, kaum auffälliger Geruch. Ich hatte keine besonderen Erwartungen. Doch mein Kater war nicht zu bremsen: Er fraß mit großer Begeisterung, ließ sogar sein eigentlich bevorzugtes Nassfutter stehen und schnurrte zufrieden. Inzwischen bekommt er das Futter nur noch rationiert, damit er nicht über die Stränge schlägt.

Auch verträglich scheint es zu sein: Kein Erbrechen, kein Durchfall, kein auffälliges Verhalten danach – und das bei einem Seniorkater mit eher sensibler Verdauung.

Laut Herstellerangaben ist das Futter:

Fazit: Ein auf den ersten Blick unauffälliges Trockenfutter, das meinen 14-jährigen Kater wider Erwarten begeistert hat. Es scheint ihm gut zu schmecken, gut zu bekommen und unterstützt weiterhin die Zahnpflege – ohne sichtbare Nachteile. Ich werde es definitiv nachkaufen – auch wenn es künftig nur dosiert gegeben wird, denn das Nassfutter soll er ja zur ausgewogenen Ernährung weiter fressen.
