James Sutherland was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, many, many, many years ago. So long ago, in fact, that he can't remember a thing about it. The son of a musician, he moved around lots as a youngster, attending schools in the Isle of Man and Spain before returning to Stoke where he lurked until the age of 18. After gaining a French degree at Bangor University, North Wales, James toiled manfully at a variety of office jobs before escaping through a fire exit in a desperate bid to write silly nonsense full-time. In his spare time, James enjoys hunting for slugs in the garden, chatting with his gold fish and frolicking around the house in his tartan nightie.
Best known as the writer of the "Norbert" stories, comic tales about the adventures of a dopey old horse and his irritable chum, Colin the Cuckoo, James has written a further six stories to date which are as follows:
Ernie - a brand new comic adventure about a scruffy little dog and his attempts to recover his beloved toy bone from the scary bulldog that lives next door.
Frogarty the Witch - A collection of four short stories about the world's foulest witch!
Roger the Frog - A spectacularly silly yarn about a foolish little frog who is determined to leave the pond and make a name for himself in the big wide world, featuring a special cameo appearance from Norbert.
The Further Adventures of Roger the Frog - More, even sillier adventures with the unfortunate amphibian...
The Tale of the Miserous Mip - A darkly funny tale.
Jimmy Black and the Curse of Poseidon - A full-length comic adventure story.
