My husband was a great fan of James Herbert so sad when he passed away so suddenly, bought this as part of a birthday present he read it in one afternoon.
He did say that you must be a fan of his because it was all about his story lines for his books.
Recommend if you are a fan of this great author.

A well researched and in-depth profile of Britain's foremost horror writer that has been updated to include intricate reviews of all his books from The Rats in 1974 to his final novel Ash in 2012. The biography encompasses his life and career and is very informative and gripping, right up to the moment of his tragic and untimely death in March 2013. A couple of typos in my kindle version (sought-after is spelled sort-after) but that's just me being picky and trying to find fault with a thoroughly entertaining read. Well recommended.

I love most of James Herbert books and to find out about the man himself and to find where he got the inspiration to write his books very interesting, Very well written and the author of this book goes in to detail about the man. Enjoyed it very much.

I was expecting a biography of James Herbert but this book was more of a bibliography with a few snippets about James Herbert thrown in. Therefore had I known the book's format before I bought it I wouldn't have bothered. I rated it as OK because I couldn't in all honesty rate it higher.

Basically this the same book as the previous biography by Craig Cabell with a new forward added touching on the recent passing of James Herbert so if you have read that one don't bother with this one
