This book does not patronise the player - there are some tricky pieces in here - which in my mind makes it great. The bonus is they are also really great Bond tunes spanning the last 50 years.
Definately to be recommended.
3 songs have been removed from the new version, so don't throw your old book away!
Some arrangements have been improved, but Moonraker, You only Twice and View to a Kill are much better in the old version.
The LH arpeggios have been massacred in Moonraker new version.
You Only Live Twice has been wrongly transposed into B major. *facepalm*
Kudos to the arranger in the new version for respelling License to Kill into 4 sharps. It still sounds like F#major but it's now much easier to read.
It is an improvement on my older copy where you had sections ending a few bars after a page turn. So far none of that here. BUT, and it is a big but, if you're planning to sing along - be aware that some of the vocal parts are scored at the outside of a normal range - for example I was surprised (and disappointed) that Skyfall is scored so that the top note is a high C (C6). No-where near the pitch that Adele sings the piece and certainly not conducive to a general sing-along.
It's an attractive book and will stay open without music supports.
I noted another reviewer was complaining about the quality of the photos that are included in the overviews provided for each of the films. I thought that considering the purpose of buying the book was for the music, then I wouldn't for one be expecting to have a book full of high quality photos printed in super glossy paper. That being said, I think that the photos are good quality and along with the overviews, should be considered to be an added bonus.
Overall and excellent music book that I would be happy to recommend to anyone.
